Some movies were made to create drama and stir up controversy, and usually any film that takes a unique way of handling religion is right up there. While the debate about censoring media continues to rage on in the world regardless of subject matter, the latest scandal has received a ton of backlash online in the form of a petition to stop the movie from being released.
This time, the drama surrounds the upcoming film *Habit.*

The movie will star Bella Thorne as “a street smart, party girl with a Jesus fetish [who] gets mixed up in a violent drug deal and finds a possible way out by masquerading as a Nun,” according to a press release .
Controversially, Paris Jackson was cast to play Jesus in the film.

Paris Jackson, the daughter of Michael Jackson, will have a “gender-bending take on the religious figure,” and obviously, not everyone is happy with that.
An online petition has been started to ensure the movie does not get picked up by distributors that has already received 280, 000 signatures.
The woman who started this petition, identified only as Vivian N., is not happy about the film.

“A new blasphemous Hollywood film is predicted to come out soon depicting Jesus as a lesbian woman,” the description explains, although no promotional material for the film has stated that Jackson’s Jesus will be a lesbian.
The petition refers to the film as “Christianophobic.”

“Distributors haven’t picked it up as of yet, so let’s please spread awareness and wake people up to the Christianophobic garbage that is spread nowadays, but is somehow accepted and praised by society,” it claims.
Similarly, Christian group One Million Moms has also started a petition against the film.

Calling it sacrilegious , their petition has earned almost 70, 000 signatures on its own.
