With the coronavirus pandemic upon us, everyone around the world is struggling to figure out how they’re going to make it through this trying time. Parents especially are trying to figure out how they are going to cope with having their kids at home for the foreseeable future.
As the pandemic spreads across the world, schools have been closing their doors.
With kids vulnerable to carrying the illness and adults vulnerable to contracting it, many schools have decided to move from in-person instruction to strictly online education. Many students are required to continue their education now at home.
Which means moms and dads are now the “teachers.”
Teaching your kids is not as easy as it seems, especially when you are sheltered with them 24 hours a day and cannot leave to escape the madness inside.
Therefore, moms across the world are sharing their “daily schedules” they have designed for their kids at home to manage the burden of being inside all day long.
Thanks to Facebook and social media, moms have been coming up with daily schedules to break down what their kids will be doing at home all day.
But, some moms know that expectations versus reality are different.
In all realness, your kids are most likely going to spend 99.9% of their time on iPads or their phones. And, you can forget about limiting that “screen time.” It’s a lost cause.
In fact, most moms know that it’s impossible to get things “on track.”
Most of the time is going to be spent arguing over who can use what—especially when you have multiple kids at home wanting to use the same toy or device.
Kids under 10-years-old? No problem.
Most moms know that they’re going to feel super guilty when they realize that their kids can’t get absolutely everything they want/need. And, on top of it, parents are going to lose their s**t multiple times a day.
If you’re stuck with toddlers—get ready for the most trying time of your life.
Nap time is going to be a one-way ticket on the struggle bus. You can try your very best, but you might as well map out some time to “resist” the urge to nap.
Might as well map out a slot for time-out—they’re going to need it.
This mom knows that time-out is going to happen inevitably. Oh, and plenty of time to cry. For both kid AND for mom.
Can’t forget that there is going to be a mess somewhere in the house.
“Everything is wet for some reason????” That’s a whole mood and every parent knows it.
And, the best of them all—the edited version of everyone’s reality.
Pass out to “Love is Blind” with your bra still on because the kids have wiped you out and you literally cannot think of anything else to do—plus, your foot still hurts from a Lego.
All in all moms—remember—when things get hard, we’re all in this together.
Every parent is struggling with figuring out this “new reality” for the time being, so if you feel like you’re failing, take comfort in the fact that just about everyone is struggling along with you, too.
