Jennifer Lopez and Mariah Carey’s feud feels like a tale as old as time. There’s nothing quite like a battle of two undeniably talented, and beautiful divas.
Now, Mariah is letting it all hang out in her new memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey.
While we all know the “I don’t know her” meme, it’s time to learn the origin story.
The year is 2001. Low-rise jeans are all the rage. Paris Hilton is your style icon. Mariah Carey says “I don’t know her” when asked about Jennifer Lopez.
How did we get here? How did we, as a culture, completely reset from this moment?!
Finally, nearly 20 years later, Mariah Carey’s memoir is revealing everything !
The shade all began after Mariah divorced her first husband Tommy Mottola, who happened to be the boss over at Sony music.

As per Hollywood Life , Mariah claims Tommy was determined to derail her career, and tried to use a sample Ms. Carey had on her 2001 hit “Loverboy” and give it to “another female entertainer on their label (whom I don’t know).”
AHHHHHHH!
YES, that is an actual quote from Mariah’s book. A way to mention J.Lo without actually *mentioning* J.Lo!

It was no secret that Tommy was trying to make Jennifer Lopez an even bigger star than Mariah after she left the label.
Mariah concluded: “And after all that [expletive] “Loverboy” ended up being the best-selling single of 2001 in the United States.”
Her parting words for the end of the chapter? A callback to J.Lo’s song “I’m real,” making clear jab at Jenny from the Block.
THE TEA IS HOT TONIGHT!
