Food delivery services have really made life a lot easier. It means you can get your favorite takeout without having to step out of your home.
Of course, this also means you can get somebody to deliver something to you from a short distance. Like, from directly across the street, for example. If you’ve never done that before, I bet you’ve probably thought about it.
I’m sure it happens a lot more than you’d think.
In a since deleted TikTok from @hustlinganddriving, the user makes jokes about a DoorDash delivery he was making to a mall worker who ordered from Panera, which happened to be across the street from where they were working.
The user roasts this customer, calling him the “Laziest Customer EVER.”
This happened at Willow Grove Mall in Pennsylvania, which doesn’t have a Panera in its food court, but does have one across the street, not a far walk from the mall at all.
The TikToker showed the instructions for the delivery.
It said, “ATT store, right across from food court Willow grove mall.”
“Literally has to be the laziest…” The user says. “Dude you’re right across from the food court.”
It ended up sparking debate with commenters.
Since the person who ordered Panera was working in the mall and not a particularly lazy mall patron, some wondered if he was too busy to step away to pick up the food himself.
However, the TikTok user shut that theory down.
According to him, “it was a bunch of em just sitting not doing nothing.. all of em on their phone.”
So yeah, the customer may have had the time to order pickup instead.
But some people thought the customer was in the right.
“I work in the mall and DoorDash food because I get tired of what’s in the food court the reasoning shouldn’t matter. Just do your job,” a commenter wrote.
Others thought the video was a little misleading.
Another commenter wrote, “The note is for for you to find him easier, there is no Panera bread inside that mall. Why you making it seem that he ordered from the food court.”
And realistically, at least it was an easy delivery to make.
A commenter wrote, “Easiest delivery ever!!” I mean, you kind of have to agree with that. Even if you see it as lazy, the uploader’s the one who got paid.
All in all, the video went viral.
The TikTok was posted earlier this month, and though it has since been deleted, it did manage to get at least 150k views. Allegedly, the video blew up after it’d been featured on sites like The Daily Dot .
Unfortunately, the user deleted the TikTok after getting suspended by DoorDash.
In a few other TikToks uploaded to his account , the user explains that because the original video blew up, DoorDash took notice and deactivated his driver account. Which truthfully, doesn’t quite sound fair.
