If you follow any member of the Kardashian Jenner clan on Instagram, then you’re probably well-aware of just how unrealistically perfect they appear on social media.
In fact, they’ve been accused countless times of retouching and over-editing their photos. But recently, the eldest of the sisters, Kourtney , has been embracing her stretch marks!
The Kardashian and Jenner sisters have been known for having impeccable Instagram feeds.
If that means abusing FaceTune and Photoshop to hide their imperfections, they’ll do it.
They’ve been called out dozens of times for it.
But lately, the eldest of the Kardashian sisters, Kourtney, has been embracing her natural side more than usual.
I guess somewhere along the line she realized that it’s okay to be a real human with stretch marks because, let’s face it, we all have them to some extent.
In August, Kourtney shared a photo of herself in a bathing suit on Poosh’s Instagram account.
Fans quickly applauded her for not editing out her stretch marks — sending the message that it’s okay for your skin to have a natural, biological reaction to expanding or contracting.
Fans thanked her for keeping it real, unlike the countless unfluencers and celebs on Instagram.
Not only was she transparent about her flaws, but she looked great doing it!
Stripes or no stripes.
Other fans pointed out that even though she has a couple stretch marks, she is still flawless.
Maybe that’s because stretch marks aren’t really flaws after all!
Another person wrote that they didn’t even notice the stretch marks because they “fit right in”.
And because they’re definitely not the main focus of the photo.
Honestly, if nobody pointed them out I wouldn’t have noticed them either.
She even replied to one of the comments, admitting that she loves her “stripes”.
As she should!
Anyway, in a recent interview she touched on this topic further.
Speaking with Health, in an issue that was published yesterday, Kourtney opened up about the positive reaction she received after posting that photo back in August.
She explained that she was surprised to get such uplifting feedback.
“I was surprised by that,” she said.
“I’ve had stretch marks since eighth or ninth grade on the side of my booty,” she recalled .
Despite society’s unrealistic and hardly achievable “beauty standards”, Kourtney has never actually taken an issue with her stretch marks.
“I never cared about them—I like them!,” she said .
Having stretch marks doesn’t make anyone unhealthy, by any stretch — pun intended. Kourtney explained in the same interview that she has a very health-concious daily exercise and diet regime.
“[Post-kids,] with my body, it’s become more about maintenance,” she explained. “As far as my workouts, I feel really good .”
“In my house, we are gluten- and dairy-free; my skin is very sensitive, and if I eat dairy, it affects it,” she continued.
“I love doing a keto diet, though I’m not doing it now. I noticed my body change for the better. I [also] love intermittent fasting . I try to do that all the time.”
“Sometimes if I’ve had a normal day of eating and I’m pretty full, instead of having dinner, I’ll have some bone broth”.
In another recent interview with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s lifestyle site Rose Inc , Kourtney also mentioned her love for her stretch marks.
In a lightning-round Q&A, when asked by the interviewer: “When do you feel desirable?” Kourtney replied:
” Naked —tiger stripes and all.”
That’s the dream, tbh!
So, moral of the story, ladies, LOVE YA SELF!
