The college admissions scam has been one of the biggest scandals of 2019 — if not the biggest so far, and to our surprise, Kim Kardashian’s take on it enlightening and sophisticated.
If somehow you managed not to hear about the admissions scandal, here’s what you missed:
Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, among dozens of others, were caught bribing college administrators with hundreds of thousands of dollars, to get their kids into college.

It was a massive scheme that swept the nation.
For college entrance exams, there were paid people posing as the students and writing the test for them, and other students had their exams corrected on the inside before officially having them submitted .
Even college athletic coaches and administrators were being bribed.
This means that some parents were trying to have their children recruited as an athlete — regardless of their athletic abilities.
They would go as far as superimposing their child’s face onto a professional athlete’s body using Photoshop .
According to the FBI, most of the students involved in the scam didn’t have any knowledge of it.
As far as they knew, they were simply getting into elite colleges because they were deserving .
Last weekend, in an interview with Van Jones, Kim Kardashian West opened up about her thoughts on the scandal.
She did not hold back in the slightest, and we’re all shocked — but in a good way.
“If [my kids] couldn’t get into a school, I would never want to use privilege to try to force them into a situation that they wouldn’t thrive in anyway,” she said.
Which is a very good point .
Were those other parents just expecting their kids to magically become scholars after cheating their way into college?
She went on, describing the whole scandal as being very inappropriate.
She implied that just because they have so much that is ” accessible ” to them, doesn’t necessarily make it a good idea.
“I want my kids to be kind. I want my kids to be as grounded as possible.”
“To buy your way into something just wouldn’t benefit anybody,” she said .
Preach, Kim!
She explained that “working hard” for something and earning it would be a lot more rewarding anyway.
She then brought up that she is studying to be a lawyer, and that her kids have seen her studying and working hard for what she wants — setting a good example.
“I have my backpack, they have their backpack. They’re studying, I’m studying,” she said.
“And them seeing that I have this filming career , and that I’m having makeup samples tested all over my arm, while I’m trying to read my flashcards…”
“I hope they get inspired to know that they can put in the hard work,” she added.
Kim also explained that it is especially inspiring that she is in her late thirties, trying to finish college and become an attorney .
“And even though I’m in my late thirties and just finishing college, or attempting to do that now,” she said, adding:
“It’s never too late and there really is no easy way out.”
She has even praised Kanye for stepping up his daddy duties while she’s been so swamped with work and school.
“During the week at night, there’s a lot of time I’m like, ‘Babe, you need to take the kids.’ He’s honestly really stepped it up and I’m so grateful to him for doing that,” she said .
She went on to explain that she receives a ton of grief on social media for not being a hard worker, but argued that she has proven otherwise.
She said that she hasn’t taken the “easy route” by any means.
“You know what. I have my full-time filming job. I have my beauty business. I work full time and I’m going to take on another 18 hours a week that’s required.’ Some people just didn’t really understand how it works, and I think people assume that I’m just prepping for the Bar and not actually studying or going to school.”
