If there is one thing we know we can always count on weekly, sometimes daily , it’s Kardashian/Jenner drama.
Kendall manages to stay off our scandal radar considerably less than the rest of her sisters. But we knew she couldn’t stay away for long! The good news is, she’s addressing the situation and owning up to it, which is usually more than we can say for others in her circle, whose names shall not be named…
It has been about two years since the official Fyre Festival scandal.
Since then, there have been two documentaries summing up what it is, and who exactly was involved.
The celebrities that were involved in the infamous event are slowly starting to come forward about their involvement.
The celebs who were involved participated in promoting the scam to their fans and putting out thousands of dollars in order to do so.
For those of you that aren’t familiar with the scandal, or have yet to see the documentary, let’s get you up to speed!
To sum it all up, Fyre Festival was designed to look like the greatest party of all time.
But ultimately, the festival was a complete fail.
Everyone who spent thousands of dollars to be there went home very disappointed.
Ja Rule, the founder of the event, has tried to maintain that the whole thing was not a scam, but that things were just disorganized and falling apart at the seems, completely by accident.
The festival that not only did not turn out as promised, also left festival-goers that traveled from all over the world to be there, were left stranded at the airport.
On top of that, the food provided for the festival was also questionable.
Bella Hadid, one of the celebs that promoted the festival, apologized publicly for her involvement.
“I just wanted to address Fyre Festival,” Bella wrote .
“Even though this was not my project what so ever, nor was I informed about the production or process of the festival in any shape or form, I do know that it is has always been out of great intent, and they truly wanted all of us to have the time of our lives.”
Hailey Bieber, another celebrity involved, revealed that she was going to use the same amount of money that she was paid by Fyre Festival to promote it, and donate it.
Although she did not reveal the exact sum, she did tell James Corden that she would be donating the amount to charity.
“I’m not going to share [the amount], but it made for a very generous donation to charity,” she said .
We had yet to hear from Kendall Jenner — someone who was largely involved in the promotion of the festival.
Until this past weekend, when she spoke candidly about it in an interview with The New York Times .
“You get reached out to by people to, whether it be to promote or help or whatever, and you never know how these things are going to turn out, sometimes it’s a risk,” Kendall said.
She explained that she went out on a limb when she accepted the opportunity.
“I definitely do as much research as I can, but sometimes there isn’t much research you can do because it’s a starting brand and you kind of have to have faith in it and hope it will work out the way people say it will.”
Kendall added that there wasn’t much research to be done on the festival at the time since it was just starting up .
She went on to share that she really didn’t “know much” about the festival when she decided to accept the promotional offer.
She chose to trust that the festival would pan out the way is was originally supposed to .
It was reported that Kendall was paid $250,000 for the Instagram post.
Quite frankly, if someone is offering you $250000 to make a post on Instagram, promoting a festival, who wouldn’t say yes to that?
The other models and celebs, like Hailey Bieber and Bella Hadid, that were paid to promote the post were apparently only paid $20,000.
So, clearly, Kendall had the better end of the stick.
It seems like the entire Kardashian-Jenner family is in the hot seat lately.
If it isn’t Kim for letting her daughter wear lipstick or Khloé for promoting diet culture , it’s Kendall unknowingly participating in a scam.
But Kendall has finally addressed the situation and defended herself — so I guess that’s a wrap!
Do you think Kendall’s defense is genuine and justified her actions?
Or do you think she was fully a part of the scam from the start?
