The American rapper Kanye West, who reportedly changed his name to Ye in 2021, has taken to social media to boldly share his staggering net worth, only two years after allegedly losing $2 billion and nearly going bankrupt.
It’s been a rollercoaster for the rapper and his finances, especially after he lost a lot of brand sponsorships in 2022, subsequently losing his incredible amounts of money.
You’d think he’s always been well-off
With West having hit songs like Stronger, American Boy and Gold Digger under his belt, you’d think the singer has always had more than he could ever need in the bank.
However, the rapper claims he has had difficulties with money before.
West had lost his money
The rapper almost filed for bankruptcy a few years ago when back in 2022 he had gone on a series of alarming anti-semtic rants on social media.
This caused many brands who had deals set up with him to cancel their partnerships.
They were big brands
The brands that canceled their business partnerships with the rapper were those such as Adidas, Gap, and Balenciaga.
He especially suffered major loss of finances from losing his partnership with Adidas, who were the former distributors of his Yeezy shoe brand estimated to be worth $1.5 billion.
He claimed he lost billions
Following losing his partnerships with such big brands, the rapper claimed that he lost 2 billion dollars in just one day.
He shared this in a social media post aimed at Ari Emanuel, a businessman who had previously encouraged brands to end their partnerships with West.
West opened up to TMZ
Last year, the rapper opened up about his troubles with his finances to TMZ, where he said that there was a point where he was two months away from going bankrupt.
“I’m just be honest with y’all. I was two months from going bankrupt, and I put everything I had into it [the album and the Super Bowl advert],” he said.
The rapper relocated to Italy
West also went on to share that at that time of the financial misfortune, he moved to Italy with his wife Bianca Censori.
“We moved to Italy. We moved to the factories, and we survived. We survived through the cancellation. We’re back number one,” he said.
He has regained the money
Despite losing billions a few years ago, the rapper has shared in his most recent Instagram post that he is now worth $2.77 billion.
The post came as a screenshot from a US business valuation service, Eton Venture, which stated his net worth.
He was happy to flaunt the number

The statement read, “In 2025, Ye’s net worth stands at $2.77billion USD as confirmed by Eton Venture Services. The valuation is based on his music portfolio and his sole ownership of the Yeezy mark.”
The rapper also captioned the post with “LAA LA LA LA” and has “2.77 Billion and counting” in his Instagram bio, showing the man is clearly proud of how much he’s got.
