An intense battle of worlds between Jon Stewart and Pro-Gun politician Nathan Dahm over Gun control ️
Apple TV Series
Jon Stewart Apple TV series The Problem With Jon Stewart returns to our screen today, and in a clip from the newest episode, the host completely eviscerates a politician whose theory about gun rights doesn’t sound well to his hearing.
Who Did Jon Stewart Interview?
The newly released episode shows Jon Stewart interviewing the Oklahoma R********n State Senator Nathan Dahm, whose duty is filing a bill in the state which protects residents’ Second Amendment rights by nullifying red-flag laws.
Nathan Dahm’s Bill Is Pro-Gun
His proposed bill will enable gun violence restraining orders to be filed. The bill’s other clauses include a provision that restricts gun control education and advocacy in the state.
What’s The Rationale Behind Dahm’s Logic?
Dahm’s logic is this: permitting more ammunition into the country will give birth to a safer nation, but Stewart doesn’t share the same sentiment.
More Guns Will Not Make Us Safer
“Just for clarity’s sake, I’m not against the Second Amendment,” Stewart tells Dahm in the clip, but he adds, “You’re saying more guns makes us safer?” Stewart asks.
Dahm Stands By His Logic
“Yes, it will make us safe,” Dahm responds.
The Math Doesn’t Add Up
Stewart cannot hide his dissatisfaction as he poses a question to Dahm. “So when we got 400 million guns in the country, we had an increase, and gun deaths went up. So when exactly does this curve hit that takes it down? Would a billion guns do it?” Stewart asks.
It’s Individuality Not The Collective
Dahm responded to Stewart’s question by saying he believes that individuals are the problem.
How Will Guns Solve This Chaos?
“How will the availability of more guns resolve the matter on the ground?” Stewart asks frantically.
Dahm Still Stands By His Theory
Dahm believes people are the problem, and as such, the focus must be on the problem the people are facing and how to address it.
Stewart Challenges His Guest
Stewarts can’t stomach the response, questioning Dahm by asking, “But you’ve removed the ability of the state to do that. If you don’t have background checks and you don’t have registration and permitting, how do you know who has a problem in terms of the people who you’re giving a gun to? This will not solve the problem, rather it would further mess up things.”
Stewart Is Out For Dahm’s Blood
Afterward, Stewart pointed out a matter to Dahm’s attention. It was about the drag shows he is planning to ban drag shows’ accessibility to children. Summarizing the need to protect minors from seeing them.
Dahm Defends Himself
The government has a huge responsibility to protect her future —children, Dahm slams back.
Stewart Is Not Buying It
Stewart does not believe drag shows will have a negative influence on kids. In his words, drag shows are readings to children and it’s not the leading cause of death among infants. So what is it?
Dahm Smiles At Stewart’s Speech
I’m presuming you’re gonna say it’s firearms,” Dahm smiles.
Firearm Is The Problem
Stewart is unwilling to accept Dahm’s reasoning or his weak attempt to soften the blow with a smile. He responded to Dahm, unsmiling, reinforcing his opinion that firearms are the problem. It kills children more than cancer and car accidents.
You Don’t Give A Tooth About The Dead Kids
Stewart accused Dahm of not being interested in the children that died. “You don’t mind infringing on free speech to protect children from the formless thing that you think of, but when it comes to children that have died, you don’t give a flying f**k to stop that, because that shall not be violated. That is hypocrisy at its highest order.” Stewart concluded.
