JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes have appeared in a TV interview talking about their relationship for the first time following the finale of Celebrity Big Brother.
This comes after a close bond was formed between the two on the reality TV show, prompting Siwa to ‘dump’ her partner at the time, Kath Ebbs, who spoke about the ‘humiliating’ breakup on social media.
Siwa and Hughes got close on CBB

21-year-old Siwa and 32-year-old Hughes became close on Celebrity Big Brother, becoming the talk of the show as some claimed their relationship was ‘uncomfortably close’.
Their on-screen intimacy even prompted a few complaints to Ofcom, the media regulator in the UK.
This was exacerbated by Siwa having had a partner

The conversations around Siwa and Hughes’ closeness were intensified as Siwa had a partner at the time, Kath Ebbs.
Ebbs has since posted a video to Instagram sharing that Siwa ‘dumped’ them at the Celebrity Big Brother wrap party.
Ebbs said she was ‘humiliated’
In the video, Ebbs, who is now Siwa’s former partner, referenced the relationship between Siwa and Hughes, saying that things that happened on the show led to humiliation on her part.
27-year-old Ebbs then added that she was ‘further humiliated’ when Siwa broke up with her at the Celebrity Big Brother wrap party, before even getting back to the hotel room.
Siwa and Hughes have addressed this for the first time

On Monday April 28, Siwa opened up about her breakup with Ebbs on ITV’s morning show This Morning. She admitted she hadn’t planned to break up with Ebbs at the wrap party.
She shared that initially, Ebbs hadn’t intended on attending the wrap party but changed her mind an hour in.
Siwa clarified how she felt about the whole thing
Sharing how things were for her on Celebrity Big Brother, Siwa said, “Honestly when I went into the house, day one was fun, day two fun, but then day three I was in my own thoughts, away from everyone I know and outside opinions.”
She had a realization on the show

Siwa went on, “I sat with myself and really realized things I was okay with in my life I never should have been okay with. So many things. Obviously I wanted to hold them inside, didn’t want to air it out publicly. There were things I knew I shouldn’t be okay with and I’m not happy.”
Siwa wanted to ‘fix things’ in her life

“I knew as soon as I got out I wanted to fix things and make the changes I needed to make. The first thing you want to do is exactly what you need to make it as good as you can,” she added.
She said her plan wasn’t to break up at the party
“I’ll be honest, [breaking up at the wrap party] was not a plan or my intention. It wasn’t supposed to happen like that,” Siwa said.
“They weren’t going to come, then an hour into the party they attended, one thing led to another, they asked if I was happy and I said no. The conversation took place there.”
The hosts asked if Siwa and Hughes were romantically involved

As the hosts of the show asked Siwa and Hughes if they were romantically involved with each other, Hughes said they just had a “soulmate friendship.”
Siwa also replied, “Look, he’s a great guy. It’s platonic. We have a lot of fun together. I don’t know the future, whatever life does, it will do.”
The hosts also asked if this was the cause of the breakup
When asked if their bond was the cause of Siwa’s breakup, the two seemed to deflect the question, instead emphasizing that they were just close friends.
Speaking about their friendship, Hughes said, “Our friendship is, it’s hard to explain. It’s just a really strong bond. A strong friendship. You can have a soul mate friendship. I think that’s a thing.”
