While the Irresistible singer has defended her choice of herbal remedy, it has to be said that there is no scientific evidence to back up Simpon’s claim that the reptile’s semen is good for you.
Her coach handed it to her one day
The Texan mother of three explained in an Instagram post on March 28 that her vocal coach was the first to give her the herbal remedy to drink.
Speaking on people asking her about the drink, she said, “They’re like, ‘What are you drinking?’ Because it’s this Chinese herb thing.”
She didn’t know what it was at first
The singer admitted she didn’t know what she was drinking until someone checked the label, adding, “And I’m like, ‘I don’t know.’ My vocal coach told me to drink it, and they Googled the ingredients and… snake sperm.”
“It’s like a honey. So, if you want a good vocal you got to drink snake sperm,” she added.
Some people didn’t like that
Since the post, Simpson has received backlash online, with one person saying, “At this point, Jessica’s vocal warm-up routine sounds like a deleted scene from a sci-fi documentary. Whatever works, I guess.”

Simpson further defended it the other day
Speaking with a TMZ reporter in LAX airport on Sunday April 6, Simpson further defended her choice for drinking the unusual remedy, saying that it helps clear up her throat and improve her performance on stage.

She explained, “I’m just a great singer when I have snake sperm.”
When the reporter asked her if she’ll keep drinking the remedy now that she knows what’s in it she said, “Of course! Are you kidding me? Yeah!” She even added, “Maybe I’ll make my own.”
People online were still shocked
After this exchange where Simpson explained she’d keep drinking the snake sperm for her vocals, people online were still taken aback by it.
One person on X/Twitter wrote, “Wait? She drinks snake sperm to help her vocal cords?” Another person joked, “I guess if it works for her – it works – frog balls are next for … who knows.”
