While Jennifer Lopez usually seems to do no wrong, she’s recently getting the third degree from PETA — and basically, everyone that doesn’t support killing animals for the sake of fashion — for strutting around with a crocodile skin purse.
Jennifer was seen leaving The Polo Bar with her fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, after a late dinner.
And otherwise, there would have been no cause for concern. But Jennifer had a Hermes Himalaya Birkin crocodile bag hanging off her arm.

PETA was quick to condemn J-Lo for accessorizing with an item that promotes animal cruelty.
“Jennifer has stooped to a new fashion Lo with this blood-soaked ensemble,” PETA’s Director of International Programmes said .
“Her choice of this ugly, cruelly produced handbag is extra-shameful when you consider that she could have any bag she desired,” she went on.
The Hermes’ Birkin collection is named after actress and singer Jane Birkin.
But even Jane Birkin was weary about standing behind this collection.
In 2015, Jane requested that her name be removed from the bags after PETA uncovered footage of reptiles being skinned for the making of the purse, and released it to the public.
Of course, this may or may not even be true.
This is Jane Birkin btw. For those of you who need to put a face to the name.
Jane later dropped her request after Hermes described the problem an isolated incident, claiming it was completely irregular.
They also claimed to have cut ties with that particular farm, where the footage took place.
PETA’s Director of International Programmes added just how things went down in the video.
The farm workers would “thrust rods down the animals’ spines” while they are still alive in a “hideously painful” way.
If that’s not enough to make you avoid wearing real animal skin, I don’t know what will.
The director went on to encourage Jennifer to follow the lead of fashion designers that have chosen the cruelty-free route.
In spite of the horrible reputation that many high-end brands have for being unethical towards animals, they are still some of the most sought after luxury goods in the world.
Birkin bags cost upward of $100,000.
Although Birkin bags are harder to come by, Jennifer isn’t the only celeb who’s been seen with one.
Mariah Carey is another culprit.
She said that Floyd Mayweather actually gifted her with a crocodile skin Birkin bag .
PETA has been tweeting about J-Lo ever since, pointing out that she has been seen wearing real fur dozens of times.
Safe to say that PETA is definitely not a J-Lo fan.
And it’s not the first time. PETA has been gunning for J-Lo for years.
Jen has been known to wear a fur coat or scarf every now and then.
But nothing gets by PETA.
Jennifer has claimed to be a vegan in the past, but people were quick to shut her down because of how often she wears real animals skins and fur.
This person makes a very solid point, I’ll give them that!
Fans just think paying that much for a purse is absurd, whether it is made from an endangered species or not.
It’s pretty wild that people like J-Lo are out here spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on purses, only to be ridiculed, while a large part of the world’s population lives in poverty and even squalor.
Despite PETA’s best efforts over the last 10 years, to try and guilt J-Lo out of wearing animal skins, nothing seems to slow her down.
She has very expensive taste it seems.
