If you’re looking for a man who’s in touch with his feminine side, Jason Momoa is it. The Game of Thrones alum isn’t afraid to wear pink and always has a scrunchie or two around his wrist.
In other words, he’s PERFECT. And yet, the actor recently revealed in an interview with InStyle that he was bullied growing up for being “different.”

Modern Day Jason Momoa (sadly) knows a thing or two about bullied.
Just last year, the actor was fat-shamed after pics from his European vacation went viral.
When he was photographed without his ripped abs, the internet went nuts. Some even criticized him for having a “dad bod.” Which, obviously, is just pure INSANITY.
“Been working on his Dad Belly!” one troll commented.
Others (the clearly sane ones) rushed in to defend the actor from this unnecessary hate.
This user above made a very good point about how unrealistic it is for Jason to remain in Aquaman shape 24/7. After all, the man LOVES his pizza and beer.
In case you’re worried the mean comments got to our sweet Jason, that wasn’t the case at all.
“No,” he told TMZ when they interviewed him. “Not at all.”
He even patted his stomach to further prove to the haters that he loves his physic (and we do too salivates ).
Jason handling the criticism so well might have something to do with the fact that he was bullied as a kid.
The actor recently opened up about this sensitive topic during an in-depth interview with InStyle .
It was a side of Momoa that fans definitely had not seen before. His honesty was touching.
The actor began by sharing the hardship he faced when his character, Khal Drogo, was killed off of *Game of Thrones*.
“I mean, we were starving after Game of Thrones,” he said about his wife, Lisa Bonet, and their two kids, Lola, 13, and Nakoa-Wolf, 12. “I couldn’t get work.”
He previously talked about his reaction to finding out Khal Drogo was killed off.
“I was reading [George R.R. Martin‘s book] and I was like: ‘Holy [expletive] [expletive]!” he told Entertainment Weekly in 2011.
While he was impressed with the author’s ability to create so many marveling twists and turns, he said that he was going to miss the character.
“It’s very challenging when you have babies and you’re completely in debt,” he continued to *InStyle*.
The family struggled to pay rent at the Topanga Canyon house they resided at. Thankfully, things started to turn around in 2016 when Momoa was cast as Aquaman in Justice League .
When he had his own Aquaman movie two years later, things had really changed for the better.
Having been raised by a single mother, struggling to make ends meet was something Jason was used to.
And, just like the bullying he experienced last year, being tormented was another familiar foe.
He told InStyle that being mixed race made him an easy target for bullies. Looking at Momoa now, it’s hard to believe that he was bullied, but it’s true!
Unfortunately, when he later got into art and skateboarding, the torment didn’t let up. If anything, it got worse.
“I got beat up a lot,” he admitted.
“Just for being slightly different—it was gnarly. I mean, I wore Birkenstocks in middle school, and it was like, ‘You are a freak!’”
These days, this pink-wearing-scrunchie-toting celeb is totally open to embracing the aspects about him that make him “different.”
For him, that’s about embracing both his masculine and feminine sides.
It’s also about continually growing as a person. “I’m also the first one to say, ‘I have a lot of problems, and I want to be able to correct those problems.'”
“I mean, I’m a warrior, and I will lay it down,” he said.
