Being rich and being a parent are two things that are destined for criticism, especially on social media.
One thing that I’m getting sick of seeing is rich parents being shamed for spoiling their children. Of course, it can be declassé to show off and brag about how much money you make, or how expensive something is, but at the end of the day, it’s their choice!
There’s no shortages of rich parents in Hollywood. I know, right? That was the most obvious statement ever, lol.
However, you’d think rich parents were a new concept considering how angry people get!
While I understand we’re living in unprecedented times, our anger shouldn’t go towards celebrities who are buying their children designer handbags.
Take DJ Khaled for example. The millionaire DJ and music producer is not shy to post extravagant photos of himself and his sons Asahd and Aalam enjoying the finer things in life, regardless of the negative backlash.
One celebrity mom that gets relentlessly shamed online is Kylie Jenner.
Her three-year-old daughter Stormi has received many lavish gifts and parties from her parents, but that shouldn’t evoke SUCH anger in online trolls.
Just recently, people were upset the three-year-old was gifted a four-figure shoe collection for her birthday. And, who can forget about the 12 THOUSAND DOLLAR Hermés backpack Stormi got for her first day of HOMESCHOOL?!
Who wouldn’t live that luxuriously if they could?
Another mom that is shamed for spoiling her child is Cardi B.
After her daughter, Kulture was gifted two Birken bags, many fans felt angry that such a lavish gift was given to a child.
However, Cardi B is an incredibly successful rapper and has worked hard to be able to spoil her daughter, so I don’t see the problem with it!
Trust me, I understand — every parent wants to give their child the best of the best.
But unfortunately, the best of the best varies from parent to parent, and we can’t blame them for wanting to give their children everything.
I know my parents, and most other parents out there would have done the same for us if they could have!
And look, I would be lying if I told you all that I wouldn’t buy my kids a $12,000 Hermes backpack if I had the money to do so!
All we can do is hope that these rich celebrities are donating money, and trying to bring as much awareness to their children about how blessed and lucky they are.
