A Reddit user recently got a bit sneaky and began to read a passanger’s text message on an airplane.
In the light of the recent pandemic, it seems like everyone is on alert and on edge.
One person recently shared on Reddit that on an airplane, they read another passenger’s text message to a friend and uncovered something that truly disturbed them.
The woman in question was texting a friend, letting them know why their vacation was cut short.
According to the text message that the “Nosy Nancy” got a peek at, the woman and her travel companion “both have Covid,” to which she told her friend she was texting, “Shhhh.”
She explained in the text that was why they were returning from their trip early.
Obviously, the person reading the text, sneakily, was angry.
If you are on a small aircraft with someone else, the last thing you want to find out is that they have Covid-19.
The current variant is extremely contagious, so it’s safe to say that anyone who was on the flight would be angry if this person actually does have Covid.
The Reddit user shared it online, asking if it’s “legal.”
The Reddit user wanted to know if it is “legal” for someone to fly on an aircraft, with other people (and staff/pilot/flight attendants) knowing that they are Covid-19 positive and can spread it to everyone and anyone.
People on Reddit were extremely divided over this.
Many agreed that if she does have Covid-19, it’s extremely messed up and immoral for her to get on an airplane with other people, possibly exposing them all to the virus.
Another said that the Reddit user should tell a flight attendant.
However, some were focused on the behavior of the poster, too.
Many said that it is extremely rude for the Reddit user to not only read someone else’s text message, but also take a photo of their text message and share it online.
People said that it was “far worse” to be reading other people’s business.
Others said they missed the “good ol’ days.”
Some people commented that they miss the “good days” where everyone minded their own business and no one blew up each other’s spots on social media or even in public.
Sometimes, it’s better to be ignorant, right?
Many agreed.
Many commenters were angry that people were okay with not only reading the text message of someone else but posting it online to share with the entire world.
It’s taking it one step further by posting it on social media.
Another person said that maybe the Reddit user was being punked.
One Reddit user said on the Subway, whenever someone would be reading their phone over their shoulder, they would purposely write crazy things just to get them good.
They would even write about “the person next to them having BO” or “something in their teeth” just to see if they are reading it.
However, others said it’s the woman’s fault.
Reddit users debated that it is also the texter’s fault for having such a “large phone” with her brightness turned all the way up and her phone being easily displayed to others. If she wanted privacy, she should “invest in a privacy screen.”
