Sometimes, you just don’t keep it in the family.
It seems like these days all you hear about is nepotism babies in Hollywood landing roles or getting deals because of who their parents are. It’s almost refreshing to hear a story about a child of a famous person not automatically getting exactly what they want out of their career, and might make you respect the craft a little bit more of everyone involved, which is exactly what happened for Idris Elba and his daughter, Isan.

Idris’ new movie, ‘Beast,’ has him playing a father of two.
The film follows Idris as a widowed father trying to protect his two daughters from a bloodthirsty lion while on a trip to South Africa.
Idris recently revealed that his daughter in real life, Isan, 20, auditioned to play one of his daughters in the film.
Surprisingly, she didn’t get the part.
“She was great but the relationship in the film and the relationship with me and my daughter was… the chemistry wasn’t right for a film, weirdly enough,” Idris explained in a new interview .
“My daughter didn’t talk to me for about three weeks but that’s cool,” he joked about after the casting.
The film’s producer, Will Packer, also talked about the process.
“Idris was like ‘listen, I want you to put her through the ropes, go in, give her a shot, audition,'” Will revealed.
“He auditioned with her, he was very tough on her,” Will went on . “I’ll give props to Idris because a lot of people, you talk about nepotism, two dads that want the best for their kids but are hard on them are Idris Elba and Ice Cube. They’re the real deal.”
“He said at the end of the day we’re going to make the best decision for the movie,” Idris explained.
“And she was very good, very close,” He went on. “She was very gracious about it, we got through that and I’m really proud of her to go through that and then not get the role but still come to the premiere.”
