Wolverine.
You know him, you love him. Even if you’re a casual movie watcher, chances are you’ve seen Wolverine and you are, like the rest of us, blown away by Hugh Jackman’s performance.
At the time of his casting, Jackman was a no-name.

He was either doing small films or Broadway shows.
Marvel hiring him was completely out of left field.
He made his debut in the first ‘X-Men’ film.

The movie was a massive success and basically started the superhero movie trend.
He brought Wolverine to life in a beautiful way.

The character is angry, ruthless, and yet kind and caring, and Hugh depicted all of that perfectly.
‘Logan’ was probably his biggest achievement.

The movie was brilliant, point blank.
There is not one bad word to say about it. Hugh delivered the most dramatic performance to the hero possible.
However, at the very beginning of his time as Wolverine, it wasn’t always easy.

In fact, Hugh was nearly fired from the role.
I know, it’s shocking.
He was told that things weren’t working out.

“I was about to get fired from my first Hollywood movie – the biggest of my career. I was angry, I went home to my wife and I complained.” Hugh said .
He went into detail about the advice that his wife gave him.

She told him, “You are worrying way too much about what everything else is thinking. Just go back to the character, focus on that, trust your instinct… you’ve got this.”
And luckily, his wife was right.
Imagine if Hugh Jackman hadn’t ended up as the Wolverine?
That would have robbed us of the magnificent performance. Thank god he didn’t get fired!
