You know what they say about good things coming in small packages. Well, these may be the cutest little Christmas treats that we didn’t even know existed.
Cheery Bombs, which are made from boozy maraschino cherries, are not only adorable but they’re also super unique. We can’t think of a better shot-slash-snack hybrid. Now, that’s what we call a jolly time.
Forget holiday party shots and all of the overdone goodies, these bombs are about to steal the show and have us feeling lit all season long.
All you need to make them cheery is the cherry on top.
It’s pretty simple when you break it down. Get some maraschino cherries with stems (you’ll need to stem to pick them up) and your favorite kind of alcohol.
While the chocolate and sprinkles decorations are what truly pull it all together, if you wanted to just serve boozy cherries, we’re pretty sure no one would complain. Typically, they work best infused with whiskey or bourbon, but vodka, rum, or gin would also be suitable substitutes. It’s really up to you.
All you do is submerge your cherries in your drink of choice and stick them in the fridge for at least two hours, but for a more potent taste, overnight is perfect.
It’s decorating time!
After letting your cherries soak up that boozy goodness, let them dry completely.
Dip your dried cherries in melted white chocolate — make sure the chocolate is smooth with no lumps. Then coat your cherries with sanding sugar and you’re good to go!
Feel free to add some food coloring to your sugar if you can’t find some in the right shades at the store for those perfect Christmas hues.
Remember to let your cherries sit while the chocolate hardens for the best presentation possible. For an easy to follow tutorial, click here .
Don’t be afraid to customize your cheery cherry creations.
The truth is, the possibilities for these cherries are only restricted by our imaginations. There are so many toppings for these little creations.
Although they be small, they be boozy and cute. If you want to cover them with several different sprinkles and chocolates, we wholeheartedly support you.
Plus, who says you can only infuse them with one tipsy beverage? No one does, because that’s what most of us have been thinking — do it!
Afterall, what’s more fun than making your own special creation for the season?
These could be great toppers for drinks and desserts too!
These cherries are great on their own but could also be amazing when paired with another delicious recipe. We definitely have some Christmas ideas that we’ve been brewing up for these little berries.
