People don’t give animals enough credit for their brilliance. A mother dog carried her sick pup to the vets in Turkey without any human help, wanting to save her child before it was too late.
The dog carried her puppy through the rain to leave her at the door of a veterinary clinic and thankfully, the vets got to the sick puppy in time.

The vets rush to rescue
CCTV footage revealed the mother dog carrying her dying puppy to the door of a veterinary clinic in the Adnan Kahveci neighborhood of Beylikduzu, in Istanbul.
A veterinary technician saw this scene unfold in front of him and rushed to get the puppy to initiate treatment on January 13.
The mother dog was anxious
The puppy was in extremely bad shape, having had a dangerously low heart rate so the puppy was sent to intensive care instantaneously. The mother dog was understandably anxious about her puppy as she waited for the vets to work on the puppy on the treatment table.
Not her only child
As per veterinarian Baturalp Oghan, turns out that the mother dog gave birth to plenty of pups but most of them unfortunately died. Some animal lovers rescued a puppy, unaware that there was another one. It was the mother dog who saved the forgotten puppy.
Turns out the dogs needed proper nutrition
Dr Oghan explained that the mother dog’s milk was not enough for her puppies. Therefore, the clinic provided the dogs with additional food for proper nutrition.
The family of pups and their mother are currently being looked after in the clinic, with their health steadily improving.
The mother dog touched everyone’s hearts
The dog’s determination and dedication to save her puppy left the clinic’s staff in awe. They hope that after the dogs’ full recovery, they’ll find a safe home to shelter them and give them the love they deserve.
Dr Oghan reassures everyone
As reported by the DailyMail, Dr Oghan said: “Everything is going well so far. The treatment for both the puppy and its sibling will continue for a little longer. During this time, we are not accepting visitors due to their health.”
He is touched by the mother dog’s intelligence
Dr Oghan continued, saying: “The mother dog is recovering well. Her story has intrigued so many people, she’s a very intelligent and caring dog. It shows the love that a mother dog has for her puppies.”
They were this close to declaring the puppy dead
As reported by the Associated Press, when the technician found the pup, he was about to declare the cold puppy dead. However, it was when he heard a faint heartbeat using his stethoscope that he and the doctor went into action.
How they saved the pup
The technician and the doctor gave the pup an adrenaline shot and initiated warming him up with a hair dryer. Thankfully, their attempts to save the pup were successful. The mother dog originally gave birth to six pups but only two males survived.
