Yesterday, the world received the heartbreaking news that actor Gregory Itzin had passed away at the age of 74. He had featured in a great number of roles throughout his varied acting career , with many of his iconic roles being in television series such as 24 and NCIS.
Since the news of his passing, friends and family alike have taken to social media to share their memories with him.
Acclaimed actor Gregory Itzin has passed away.

Best known for his roles as President Charles Logan in 24 and Virgil Minelli in The Mentalist , his manager confirmed to People that his cause of death was complications during an emergency surgery.
Since then, a few touching tributes have been made about him.

Heartwarming posts from friends and family alike have been written in his honor, touching on memories had in the industry with him and the legacy he’ll leave behind as an incredible man.
’24’ Director Jon Cassar tweeted rather quickly after the news broke.
In his post , he called Itzin “one of the most talented actors I had the honor to work with” and “all around great guy”.
“You made your mark, now Rest In Peace friend.”
Itzin’s son, Wilke, also made an emotional post.
He revealed that he and his own son, Wylder, got to spend Itzin’s last few days alive alongside him. “He was able to spend quality time in a place he loved, with the people who loved him dearly.”
Itzin had his sister, Pam, with him at the moment of his death, holding his hand.
He went on to list special memories he had with his father.

He closed out his post with this, “I love you pops and I really don’t know what I’m going to do without you. You were loved by all and we will miss you tremendously. Although bittersweet, I am glad we got to spend these last few days together.”
