Well, it seems that the seventh season of the hit Netflix series, Orange Is The New Black , is finally out for all of our collective viewing pleasures.
Give five hurrahs, Give twelve hip-hips.
‘Orange Is The New Black’.
This is one of the shows that really put Netflix on the map.
Back in the day, it was the reason to get the streaming service. So that you could watch the exploits of Piper in prison.
It seems that the long-running series is finally coming to an end with its seventh season.
Yes, that’s right, but as the wise Nelly Furtado once sang: all good things must come to an end.
And so we have to see the conclusions to all our favorite characters’ stories.
Which, is what we’re here to do now.
So get ready folks, because our story is going to come to an end soon.
Piper.
Of course, we have to start with the main character, who spends the end of the Season out of jail and away from her lover Alex.
At the end, she sees Alex in prison, proving there may be potential for renewed romance.
Alex, as opposed to her lover, is still stuck in jail and in fact tells Piper to move on from her.
However, as previously established, there might be a future for the two of them.
Taystee unfortunately, doesn’t have as a happy ending as Piper and Alex.
She’s still being framed for the murder of Piscatella, however, she likes her new role as an educator in prison.
Red and Lorna are going through some hardships near the end of the series, and end up in B-Block.
A place for the mentally ill, the two of them now have to lean on each other.
Compassion is the name of the game for Nicky at the end of the series.
She uses her connections to help others within the detention center to contact their loved ones.
Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” finally finds some peace and helps Taystee in her educational purposes near the end of the series.
Which, honestly, is a great end for that character.
Unfortunately for Pennsatucky, she doesn’t get the happy ending everyone else does.
She overdoses on drugs while trying to get her GED.
However, her friend Suzanne holds a pretty nice memorial in her honor.
Daya and Aleida have a darker ending.
Mother and daughter come to physical blows near the end, with Aleida (the new drug kingpin of the prison) threatening to kill her daughter.
Cindy has a period where she has to face the wrath of Taystee.
However, at the end of the series, we see her doing some reconciling with her estranged family.
Blanca becomes a US Citizen and can finally walk as a free woman.
But she decides to return to Honduras to be with her deported husband.
Maritza and Flaca were eventually reunited…
But ICE broke the pair up and sent Maritza back to Columbia.
Flaca is last seen helping Nicky contact loved ones.
In the end, Gloria helps detainees contact loved ones and Maria is last seen reading a book to her daughter.
And with that, ladies and gentlemen, the series is finished.
