When it comes to shows as big as Game of Thrones , it only makes sense that the odd mistake slips through every now and then, right?
Fans noticed a pretty obvious one during last night’s episode, and it’s actually hilarious.

This is for those of us totally caught up on Game of Thrones , but if you clicked this article, you probably already know that.
‘The Long Night’ wasn’t so long, but things aren’t peaceful for Westeros yet.
After the funeral pyres and sad farewells to everyone we lost last week (you were a good man, Theon), we were treated this week to some political and plot tidying up — who should rule the Seven Kingdoms? Does it really matter if you’re my aunt?
There’s a lot for Dany and Jon to talk about.
Daenarys has some valid concerns. If word got out that Jon Snow might have a valid claim to the throne, it would mean bad news for Dany’s show-long goal. She tells Jon not to tell anyone about his true parentage, but Jon Snow knows nothing, especially not how to keep a secret.
He wants to tell his sisters.
Jon feels like he owes it to Sansa to tell her the truth about R + L = J, which may not have been the best decision, and definitely won’t make his aunt-girlfriend very happy with him. Things get hectic as they decide to pay Cersei a visit in King’s Landing, and in all that hecticness, it seems some people forgot to clean up after their macchiatos.
It’s well-known that “Game of Thrones” takes place during a fantasy, medieval times era.
And during these times, our characters don’t have the luxuries of wristwatches, cell phones, or even indoor plumbing for that matter.
So, obviously, if our sweet Sansa has to use a chamber pot, then it’s safe to assume that nobody is sipping on a Venti Caramel Macchiato with extra caramel, right?
I hope so, at least.
Fans were quick to notice that despite the lack of Starbucks in Westeros, somebody was sipping on something.
And they probably shouldn’t have been.
Is that a grande or a venti?
I wonder what Dany orders at Westeros’ only Starbucks. She doesn’t strike me as a latte type. It must be hard to fit “Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons” on the cup.
Some saw this as an untapped marketing opportunity.
Starbucks could try to turn this unintentional product placement into a pretty sweet deal for them, as long as they act fast — the North might remember but the Internet forgets things quickly.
Twitter found it to be absolutely hilarious.
You just know that it was somebody’s job to make sure that mistakes like this don’t happen.
Some people didn’t blame them for needing a caffeine fix.
Other people were not so forgiving. When the wordplay opportunity of the season presents itself, you’ve just got to take it.
Others had some valid questions.
Maybe we’ll all feel silly when The Winds of Winter comes out and there’s a whole chapter about Dany discovering her love for pumpkin spice lattes.
But honestly, there were a lot of people who probably had the responsibility of making sure that this didn’t happen.
To be fair, the cup is a pretty neutral color and blends into the background well. We didn’t even notice it was there the first time we watched the episode!
Someone else pointed out that this wasn’t the first time that the show has done this.
He’s actually holding the coffee cup in this shot. Yikes.

It’s too bad we never got to see this time traveller’s ill-fated story arc happen on the show. I guess when you need more extras, you need more extras!
Whether or not this is actually a Starbucks cup or not, is still up for debate.
But that’s beside the point.
I don’t know about you, but I’m going to be watching the final two episodes in the series like a hawk.
Maybe we’ll spot someone’s iPhone hanging around, or a toilet!
