In case you missed one of the most major announcemnts of the year, former Ellen star Sophia Grace (of Sophia Grace and Rosie fame, of course) announced she was five months pregnant last week.
While we’re still trying to wrap our heads around the fact that this teen we watched grow up is about to be a MOM, others have decided to shame the 19-year-old’s decision.

Now, Sophia Grace is standing up for herself.
When it comes to important 21st century pop culture moments, Ellen inviting Sophia Grace and Rosie onto her show in 2011 has to be one of the most iconic.
As you may recall, 5-year-old Rosie and 8-year-old Sophia Grace were cousins from Essex who took the internet by storm after their performance of “Super Bass” by Nicki Minaj went viral.
They instantly became a sensation and even moonlighted as red carpet representatives for the talk show host.
As the years past, the girls continued to visit and even made one last stop on the Ellen Show stage back in May to commemorate the show ending.
Fans couldn’t believe how grown up they were!
On Sunday, Sophia Grace announced on her YouTube channel that she was 5 months pregnant.
The 19-year-old admitted she was shocked when she first found out she was pregnant but is “super super happy” about it now.
She shared that she does know the gender of her baby but won’t be revealing it anytime soon.
While millions of fans were supportive of the teen, others had a lot to say about the young mom-to-be.
“Wow only 19 years old and having a child when yet she’s still a child.Just because she’s past 18 doesn’t make her an official adult. Yes she can buy cigarettes but that’s it. She is not mature at that age. Most women wait to have kids to be stable and have a great supportive partner (dad),” wrote one critic on the singer’s Instagram page .
“So gross she’s pregnant. Isn’t she a kid herself?” commented another critic.
“Are you dumb. You can’t have a child you are one,” said another.
I will spare you the rest of the nasty comments that sound pretty much the same as the comments above.
Now, the “Ellen” alum is being forced to defend her pregnancy.
“Usually most people are like, ‘You should have babies when you’re 30 and you’re married and you live in your own house,’ which is completely fine,” she told E! News .
“Obviously everyone’s gonna have their different opinions,” she added, before reminding everyone that this decision is “no one else’s problem.”
As for who the father is, the teen has decided to keep things private for now.
“Because I have always been in the spotlight, I feel like I want something just to keep to myself,” she explained, as per Page Six.
“I would be completely happy to share him and I would be completely happy for him to be in my videos, but I feel like when he’s confident enough to be in them, then maybe we could do that.”
“It’ll be really fun,” she concluded.
Thankfully, it’s clear Sophia Grace has the support of her cousin, Rosie. Sharing a photo of the pair hugging, Rosie wrote a sweet message to the mama-to-be.
“This photo was the moment Sophia told me she was pregnant (as you can see I am crying) Congratulations to my beautiful cousin Sophia on the news of your pregnancy! To say I’m excited is a[sic] understatement, I can’t wait to share this whole new chapter with you and be by your side watching you be the best mum ever! Love you so so much.”
