In a new appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Blake Lively opened up about the ‘intense’ year she’s had and mentioned her lawsuit battle with It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni.
It started in December
The lawsuit battle between Lively and Baldoni started back in December when Lively sued Baldoni, alleging that he sexually harassed her on set and launched a smear campaign against her.
Baldoni has responded by suing her and her husband Ryan Reynolds, alleging defamation and extortion.
They go to trial next year
Lively and Baldoni are now set to go to trial in March 2026.
In a statement to the New York Times made after she filed her lawsuit, Lively said, “I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted.”
Statements have been mainly through lawyers

Statements about the whole legal battle have mostly been made through Lively’s lawyers, and she hadn’t openly spoken about it until recently.
Appearing on Late Night With Seth Meyers, the star spoke about the highs and lows of her year so far, citing the lawsuit in her conversation.
She mentioned her children

Speaking with Seth Meyers on how things have been going for her recently, the actress said things have been tough but that her children help her through it.
“It’s no surprise, I’ve had a pretty intense year. They’re just my lifeline. No matter what day I am having, I have to be Disneyland every day for them. It’s the best,” she said.
Lively said the year has been full of extremes

She affirmed that she couldn’t ‘say much’ about the situation but went on to say, “What I can say, without going too into it, is that this year has been full of the highest highs and the lowest lows of my life.”
She said she felt ‘fortunate’ to be able to speak

“I see so many women around afraid to speak, especially right now, afraid to share their experience. Fear is by design, it’s what keeps us silent,” Lively said.
“But I also acknowledge that many people don’t have the opportunity to speak, so I do feel fortunate that I’ve been able to,” she added.
The actress draws strength from other women
Lively added, “It’s the women who have had the ability to use their voice that’s kept me strong and helped me in my belief and my fight for the world to be safer for women and girls. It’s a pretty simple thing.”
She also alluded to her Time100 Gala speech
In the interview, the actress also alluded to her Time100 Gala speech which she gave last month.
In the speech she had said, “I have so much to say about the last two years of my life, but tonight is not the forum. What I will speak to separately is the feeling of being a woman who has a voice today.”
