It’s hard to believe it’s already been 28 years since beloved comedian John Candy passed away. With a plethora of iconic films like Planes, Trains and Automobiles , Uncle Buck and Home Alone , John cemented himself as a fixture in pop culture forever.

It’s hard to imagine what the ’80s would have looked like without John Candy.
Many consider his breakout role to be in the 1984 classic Splash where he starred alongside Tom Hanks as his womanizing brother.
I’ll never forget the first time I saw that movie and how hard I laughed. To this day, it’s one of the only romantic comedies I can stomach.
That was just the beginning of John’s impressive career.
After spending more time in Canada collaborating with comedians like Eugene Levy and Richard Pryor, he went on to develop an iconic partnership with John Hughes.

Now, on the 28th anniversary of his death, social media is filled with tributes to the late actor, who passed away on March 4 1994, at the age of 43.
The loss of John Candy is a loss fans still feel to this day. It’s safe to say they don’t make actors like him anymore.
