Fans may have found something scarier than Halloween: the images Bella Thorne recently posted.
While the actress just wanted to show off her makeup skills, some are saying that she’s “glamorizing” domestic abuse…
When it came to celeb costumes this Halloween, the results were pretty mixed.
There were some celebs who totally nailed it (like Hilary Duff and her family’s adorable weather costume) and others who, well, not so much.
Some might even say that their costumes crossed a line…
Take Kylie Jenner, for example. The reality star found herself in at the center of backlash when she dressed up her daughter, Stormi, in a replica of her racy 2019 Met Gala gown.

While most of the initial comments started off positive, with fans and celeb pals gushing over how cute Stormi looked, things soon took a turn.
Fans began to say that the gown and purple wig wasn’t appropriate for a 20-month-old to wear.

They even began pointing out how unhappy Stormi looked.
This led to memes and Gifs being posted on Twitter, alluding to Stormi wanting to be dressed up cartoon characters instead.
At one point, things got so bad that Kylie was even accused of “child abuse.”

In addition to this, the billionaire was branded as being “narcissistic” since Kylie got to wear several costumes, while Stormi only had one: going as her mom.
As for the next controversial costume of 2019, well, that belongs to actress, Bella Thorne.

Days leading up to the spooky day, the star had posted a ton of costume-related content on Instagram.
This included this ’70s disco queen costume that really got fans excited.

She totally crushed it.
Does it make anyone else want to run out and buy a pink wig?
Her other costume was this sexy Girl Scout one.
We imagine her boxes of Thin Mints ran out quick…
There was one Halloween-related post, though, that didn’t sit well with fans…

It all went down when Bella posted a series of images on Instagram with the intent of showing off her makeup skills.
“Hire me for your Halloween makeup I got u boo,” she captioned the controversial post, along with several knife and laughing emojis.

While Bella made it clear that she wasn’t hurt — it was just a lighthearted post about her makeup skills — some of her followers were still taken aback by the images.
“My heart dropped,” one wrote. He then followed it up with this:

“Definitely terrifying,” someone else wrote, their comment summing up how most people felt when they saw the images before reading the caption.
Her fans were terrified for her:

Someone even wrote, “are you OK?”
People began speculating whether it was really makeup or if Bella had actually been beaten up…
The star was even accused of “glamorizing” domestic abuse.

This all stemmed from the fact that Bella’s makeup looked too realistic.
Plus, her not having an actual costume on with the makeup didn’t help matters.
“I feel this is too close to physical abuse, you’re crossing a fine line here.”

“That’s kinda insensitive to real victims of DV,” another wrote.
Thing is, Bella did make it clear that it’s just makeup.

Plus, the images weren’t posted out of the blue; they were posted right around Halloween.
Still, though, we can see where people got upset.
So far, Bella hasn’t commented on any of the backlash.

Even after the controversial images were posted, she kept on posting Halloween-related content.
What do you think of Bella’s scary makeup?
