Last week was quite the doozy.
Millions of Americans were stress-eating (and, let’s be real, stress-drinking) over the lengthy presidential election between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
But as soon as Biden won, the stress made way for plenty of celebration.
But not everyone is in quite the party mood. That’s because Desperate Housewives star, Eva Longoria, is still doing damage control on some comments she made about the election.
Recently, America chose Joe Biden as its 46th president. By doing so, he beat out Donald Trump in the history-making election.
Like most of the United States, many celebs have been out celebrating Biden and Kamala Harris winning the election.
This includes John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, two people who have always been outspoken against Trump.
The couple took to Santa Monica Boulevard on November 7 to celebrate the historic win.
“Everyone is so beautiful and so happy I’m crying.” The Cravings cookbook author shared in one tweet of her hanging out in car windows.
“Best moment of my life (and kids?),” Teigen also added in a since-deleted tweet.
In this tweet, Mindy Kaling shared how emotional she was over Kamala Harris becoming VP.
Also emotional was artist Lizzo who took to Instagram to share her reaction to the win.
“Let’s get to work America,” she said . “It’s time to hold the people in charge accountable. It’s time for them to listen. And it’s time for actual change in our policies and actions.”
But not every celeb has been rubbing people the right way with their thoughts on the election.

Recently, Eva Longoria found herself in hot water for telling MSNBC that people of color are to thank for securing Biden’s win.
“The women of color showed up in a big way,” Longoria told MSNBC’s Ari Melber.
“Of course, you saw in Georgia what Black women have done but Latina women were the real heroines here,” she continued.

“Beating men in turnout in every state and voting Biden-Harris at an average rate of close to 3 to 1. And that wasn’t surprising to us.”
As a Latino woman, she shared her firsthand account on how impactful these women are.

“That spirit and perseverance that Latinas use in their daily life, the struggle to pay their bills and the struggle to show up to their jobs … that’s the same perseverance and spirit they used to show up to the polls.”
But soon after the *Desperate Housewives* alum’s comments were made, she was accused of “undermining the Black community.”
“eva longoria undermining the black community (specifically black women) by saying that latina women are the “heroines”. just shows the anti-blackness in our community and how we do not appreciate black women enough for their efforts and what they do,” wrote one user .
Another shared that she “embodied one of the many barriers in the way of WOC unity.”
One user even brought up numbers to show how Longoria was “spreading misinformation.”
In the chart they shared , it showed that 91 percent of Black women voted for Biden, while only 70 percent of Latino women voted for him.
After her comments went viral, Eva responded to the backlash with a series of tweets.

“I’m so sorry and sad to hear that my comments on MSNBC could be perceived as taking credit from Black women,” she shared in a statement online.
She then went on to clarify her comments.
“I meant Latinas were the ones who showed up for our LatinX community. Finally, Black women don’t have to do it alone,” she continued.

She went on to applaud Black women for their role in Biden’s win.
“Unstoppable!!! Black women turned out 90% for Biden. I as a Latina, aspire to be as engaged as effective as they are!” she wrote.

Despite Eva’s apology and clarification, there are still many tweets that are not in the actress’s favor.
What do you think about Eva’s comments? Was she wrong to say that “Latina women were the real heroines?”
