An eight-year-old boy who died twice following a tragic car accident in 1997 has grown up to reveal what he saw when he claims to have “gone to heaven.”
Landon Kemp was resuscitated after the crash and later described visions of Jesus, his deceased father, and two siblings his mother had miscarried.
The accident occurred as Landon, his mother, Julie, and his father, Andy, were returning from church.

Their car collided with another vehicle, killing Andy instantly and severely injuring Landon. The boy was not breathing when first responders found him and was resuscitated twice on the way to the hospital.
Julie recalled the harrowing moment to the Christian Broadcasting Network:

“I didn’t see what he was yelling at. I didn’t see the ambulance coming. But I remembered him yelling. That was the last thing I heard from him.”
She also explained how rescuers initially missed Landon, finding only his shoe amid the wreckage.
When paramedics finally found Landon, he was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center.

His chances of survival were slim, and even if he lived, doctors warned he would likely suffer severe brain damage, leaving him unable to walk, talk, or eat on his own.
But miraculously, Landon survived, defying the grim prognosis.

He recovered from major surgery without any signs of brain damage. As the years went by, Landon began to share with his mother what he remembered from his time “in heaven.”
Landon claimed to have seen his father, Andy, along with two other children, who he later learned were his mother’s miscarriages.

Julie was stunned, as she had never told Landon about the pregnancies she had lost. This revelation brought her comfort during such a difficult time.
In his description of heaven, Landon said,

“It was almost like a preview of a movie, where you only see certain bits and pieces of things.” He also shared that Jesus appeared to him and instructed him to return to Earth to be a good Christian and tell others about Him.
Now, as an adult, Landon uses his story to provide hope to others going through difficult times.

And especially those dealing with loss. He feels a calling to help people maintain their faith and navigate their grief.
Julie reflected on her own journey, saying:

“I didn’t understand in 1997 why God didn’t send an angel, but I know there were angels there. And I know that we were protected. And we are living out what his plan is for us.”
By sharing their experiences, Julie and Landon aim to convey a message of resilience and unwavering faith.

They hope their testimony will inspire others not to give up, especially when faced with profound loss.
Their story reminds people that even in moments of despair, faith, and love can provide healing and the courage to move forward.
