As you may have heard, Disney is going full-steam ahead in remaking many of their classic films as live-action blockbusters. After the success of Aladdin in 2019, it was reported that Hercules was up next.
Now, Hollywood’s favorite guy Danny DeVito is jokingly putting his hat in the ring, but fans aren’t joking when they say they want him as their next Greek god!
As fans know, Danny DeVito is no stranger to the “Hercules” universe.

The actor voiced the iconic role of Philoctetes the satyr in the 1997 animated film, Hercules , which I still believe is one of the most underrated Disney films of all time.
Now, 25 years since the original film premiered, it’s been announced that a live-action “Hercules” is on its way.

Before you wince, the director of the live-action Aladdin — Guy Ritchie — is set to direct the film with Anthony and Joe Russo producing the film through their AGBO banner.
Of course, a lot of people have a lot of thoughts on this live-action remake, including Philoctetes himself.
In a new episode of Wired’s super popular “Web’s Most Searched Questions” interview, Danny jokingly shoots his shot at the titular role.
While reading through the searches, the actor was asked if he would be appearing in the new film.

“I am the live-action ‘Hercules’!” Danny joked as he flexed his arm. “If they don’t put me in that, they don’t have a hair on their [expetive].”
Despite his joke, many fans are calling for the actor to take on the role.
“The true GOAT,” tweeted one fan.
“The KING has spoken,” echoed another.
“Make it happen, Disney,” tweeted a different fan.
Look, I’m not saying this movie is going to flop if he doesn’t play Hercules, but it definitely wouldn’t flop if he DID!
