Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ legal team, which is lead by Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos, have proposed a new bail package to Judge Aryn Subramanian arguing Combs should be released from jail, three months before his sentencing.
His lawyers listed a few points
The music mogul’s attorneys are trying to release him from jail prior to his sentencing, proposing a $50 million bond to the court, per Tribune.
They’re arguing that most people who have been convicted on Mann Act charges are released from custody prior to sentencing.
Combs is convicted of two counts of these charges
The American rapper was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, which fall under the Mann Act.
In an official document shared with the press, Combs’ lawyers argued that he should be released, claiming that ‘continued confinement is unwarranted’.
They claimed it was part of his lifestyle
The lawyers claimed that because the male escorts Combs was convicted of hiring weren’t minors, the situation was part of he and ex-girlfriends Cassie Ventura and Jane’s swinger lifestyle.
Both Cassie and Jane testified against Combs during his trial.
The attorneys also claim the Mann Act is outdated
Combs’ lawyers have also claimed that since the Mann Act was passed 115 years ago, a lot has changed about society’s view of sexual relationships, insinuating that it’s outdated.
Combs was found guilty of two out of five charges
The rapper, whose trial lasted two months, was found guilty on 2 July 2025 of two out of five charges pressed against him.
The 55-year-old’s highly-reported trial saw testimonies from several celebrities as well as any of his previous employees.
He was cleared on the two most serious charges
Combs now faces two charges which are the two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution after having been cleared of the more serious counts: one of racketeering and two of sex trafficking.
His sentencing is in October
Combs’ sentencing is scheduled for 3 October.
He was denied bail after the judge claimed his past proved that he was a danger to the community, a point his defense team didn’t try to deny.
