Danny DeVito is one of the most beloved men in Hollywood. Who doesn’t have a soft spot for the comedic actor? Now, it’s time to celebrate him and give thanks for all the laughs he’s giving us!
It’s hard to believe ol’ Danny Boy is already 76 years old! I hope to look as young as he does when I’m in my 70s. Thanks to the chaos of 2020, I look like I’m older than him right now!
Danny DiVito has made several uncool things seem very cool, like aging, and being from New Jersey.
He is one of the few celebrities that has stood the test of time and has been able to grow with his audience while keeping them entertained!
Danny first gained prominence in the late ’70s as the hilarious telephone dispatcher Louie De Palma in the comedy series, Taxi .
Danny would go on to star in quintessential ’80s and ’90s films such as *Terms of Endearment, Throw Momma from the Train, Twins, The War of the Roses, Batman Returns, Get Shorty, Matilda, Mars Attacks!, L.A. Confidential*, and *Man on the Moon.*
More recently, Danny voiced Max Medici in the animated classic Dumbo and has been starring on the FX series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia since 2006.
There’s truly no limit to his acting abilities!
In addition to acting, Mr. DeVito is no stranger to working behind the camera as well.
He has directed, produced, and written films and television shows as well! See, everyone? I knew he wasn’t just a pretty face! In addition to these accolades, the 76-year-old has also appeared on Broadway!
Now that’s what I call a true Renaissance man!
In addition to his impressive career, Danny has a long list of impressive Hollywood friends! To be fair, if he had been in the biz since the ’70s and not made any friends, I’d be a bit concerned.
My personal favorite friendship of Danny’s is him and his Jumanji co-star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The video of them crashing someone’s wedding in Mexico and serenading them with karaoke is one of the few things that has brought me joy during these incredibly bleak times.
He is someone I’d want to enjoy a glass of wine with, listening to his life stories about how Hollywood used to be. Ya know, the good ol’ days! The days before the Kardashians. The days before everyone was glued to their cell phones.
We must treasure actors like Mr. DeVito — they don’t make them like him anymore!
Happy birthday, Danny!
