The job market can be pretty volatile. Whether you’re a potential employee looking for a way to make ends meet or an employer trying to find the best match for your company for the best salary, it can be hard to find a middle ground that works for everyone.
A recent post that’s gone viral on Reddit has split the Internet on whether this particular way to advertise that your company is hiring is taking things a little too far.
The r/antiwork subreddit has been growing steadily over the past few years.

With 1.9 million subscribers, the subreddit focuses on improving the conditions for workers around the world and pointing out the ways that companies can (and often do) mess up .
Recently, an advertisement for an Ale House that was hiring went viral and sparked a debate on whether it was funny or in poor taste.
“Found in Florida this week… not sure how to take this…” the Reddit post reads.

The post showed a big hiring sign in front of a restaurant that read “Now Hiring: Non-Stupid People.”
While one commenter wrote “honestly that’s kind of funny,” not everyone felt that it was meant in good humor, especially given the rough state of many customer service or food service jobs.
“Is there a non-stupid salary to match the requirement?” one commenter asked.

“Only a stupid person would think it’s ok to put this outside a business,” wrote another
“We are mature enough now to see red flags as deal breakers, we no longer need to speculate about IF this is a bad place to work” read another comment.
“At this point I’m not even sure what stupid means.”

“Like inept? Lazy? Regardless I’m assuming he’s hiring minimum wage. So people that are “stupid” will be working the lowest wage, so idk what he thinks he’s going to get,” shared another .
What do you think? Was the sign tongue-in-cheek, or was it just in bad taste? Let us know how you feel in the comments!
