When you’re a parent, you inevitably come face to face with the monster known as television . But when you the parent also happen to be the star of the show or movie — things become even more complicated .
Below is a list of well-known celebrities who, ironic as it may sound, refuse to let their kids watch their work. Some even go as far as to outright forbid any form of TV whatsoever!
Gwyneth Paltrow has strict rules when it comes to TV.

Gwyneth recently revealed that her daughter Apple finds it strange to see her mother on the big screen, and has never seen a single one of Gwyneth’s movies. Her son, as far as she knows, has only ever watched the I ron Man movies and nothing else.
Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas banned their kids from watching their films.

Up until their children were young adults, Catharine and Michael’s children were outright banned from watching any of their famous father’s movies. As Michael explained, since the bulk of his career has been rated R , he felt it inappropriate.
Julia Roberts is waiting for the right moment to expose her children to her body of work.

During an interview with People magazine, Julia said “We’ll find our right time that will be happy and joyous for us to share that all together, but it probably isn’t in two weeks .”
Bob Odenkirk doesn’t want the state coming after him.

Bob explained to Jimmy Kimmel that since he had young children, he felt that they weren’t at the right age to expose them to a show like Breaking Bad . If he had, Bob said that the state would’ve come and taken them away.
Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber are holding out for a little while longer.

During an appearance on the Aussie radio show Jase and Lauren in the Morning , Naomi reiterated how there are very few films of hers that she’d ever allow her children to see. She did, however, admit to letting them watch The Ring .
Leslie Mann and Judd Apatow don’t want their kids seeing any of their movies.

This is ironic, considering that their daughters have appeared in films like Knocked Up and Funny People . As Leslie explained to the Hollywood Mom Blog , she didn’t want her kids, their friends, or their friends’ parents forming the wrong opinions about their family.
Melissa McCarthy banned her kids from seeing ‘Bridesmaids’.

In a 2013 interview with Us Weekly , Melissa said “I have little tiny kids so they’ve seen Mike & Molly , but they haven’t seen Bridesmaids and they won’t see this for a while either .”
Helen Hunt isn’t mad about the idea of her children watching her films.

During an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman , Helen revealed that her daughter wasn’t even aware of the fact that her mother was an actress. This is probably because Helen didn’t allow her to watch TV!
Julianne Moore says that nobody wants to watch their mother on the big screen.

Rather, Julianne explained to Good Morning Britain that her children prefer her to be their mother. The Still Alice actress also admitted that her daughter didn’t even like it when she would run lines at the dinner table.
Megan Fox doesn’t let her children watch any television.

During an interview with ET , Megan explained that “They’re just being bombarded with all of this sort of live media and it’s very overwhelming and it’s too stimulating I think for anyone .”
Madonna doesn’t think it’s appropriate for her kids to watch TV. Period.

The Queen of Pop did admit to allowing her kids to watch the occasional movie, but when it comes to television as well as mobile phones, they are strictly forbidden . Who would’ve thought that Madonna was so conservative?
Jack Black has only ever let his children see one movie he’s starred in.

According to Jack, the only film of his that his kids have ever seen him in is Kung Fu Panda . While he admits that School of Rock would probably be age-appropriate, he doesn’t want to weird them out or force it upon them.
Mark Wahlberg says his kids are just too young to understand.

“They don’t understand,” Wahlberg told Extra . “They see this cute cuddly teddy bear, and they’re like ‘Dad, why can’t we see this movie about you and a teddy bear?’ I’m like the ‘Teddy has a potty mouth .’”
Mayim Bialik hasn’t watched an episode of ‘The Big Bang Theory’, so there’s no way she’s letting her kids see it.

That’s right, Mayim has never watched a single episode of her career-defining sitcom ! She says that she has no interest in dealing with the repercussive judgments of her children at home.
Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard say that their kids haven’t even seen ‘Frozen’!

That’s right, in a 2015 interview with Us Weekly , Kristen admitted that their daughter Lincoln had yet to see what is considered by many to be one of the greatest Disney movies of all time!
