18 Tattoo Designs That Are Definitely Going Out Of Style This Year

Getting a tattoo is a very personal choice. Many people gravitate towards a certain style or subject matter. On the other hand, some folks want to celebrate important occasions or honor a loved one who passed. Whatever you choose is up to you.

However, you still need to pick a good artist and decide on a suitable design. If you don't do that, things can quickly go awry, and that's the case with these outdated ideas here, ha, ha.

Okay, I get it — a mandala tattoo can be so pretty. Am I right? But having said that do you want to have a tattoo that so many people have as well? I think not. It's time to find another design.

Tree Silhouette

Just like the mandala, a tree silhouette tattoo started to pop up everywhere. You turn around, and everybody has one. That's when you know that you need to get on a different trend, ha, ha. Who's with me on that one?

First of all, why anyone would get a barcode tattoo is beyond me. I mean, we get to see enough of these as it is. And then what if a tired tattoo artist decided to play a trick on you and tattoos a barcode of something stupid like feminine hygiene products. Serves you right, lol!

Infinity Knots

I don't know where this idea came from, but it wasn't a good one, to begin with, huh? Here's what one tattoo artist said that made me laugh out loud, "Infinity knots. Infinity knots with hearts. Infinity knots with names too long to be in the infinity knots. Please infinity not." Ha, ha!

Name Tattoos

Okay, this one goes out without saying. It's never a good idea to tattoo someone's name on you. The only exception is your mom, dad, sibling, or family member. If it's a romantic partner, stay away. Usually, those things don't turn out that well.

Cats With Crowns

What is it with people who ask for a lion tattoo with a crown on their head, huh? It's not like the lion walks around like that in the jungle. So I really don't get that idea at all.

Face Tattoos

Here's the thing it takes a bold person to get a face tattoo. Usually, they mean that you've been to prison, so as an 18-year-old, perhaps that's not the best idea, huh? Think about it before you take the plunge, please.

Live, Laugh, Love

Okay, I admit I used to like this phrase. However, I am now over it, hehe. I've seen it too much over the years, and as a tattoo, that's a no-no. Basically, any trend is a bad idea because trends come and go, and a tattoo is permanent.

Birds On The Shoulder

I get it — a lot of people are fascinated by birds. So am I. I've always wanted an owl tattoo, for example. But as it turns out, tattoo artists are sick of inking those two birds on your shoulder, so move on to a better idea, okay?

Let's face it — if you're not a sailor, there's no rhyme or reason for that anchor tattoo. People usually get them to symbolize that they won't be tied down. It's literally the opposite of what the anchor does. Case closed, ha, ha.

Mustache On Pointer Finger

I honestly don't know who started this idea, but it can only be fun to a 5-year-old. Am I right? If you're an adult and you're still laughing at this one, you're way behind your peers, ha, ha.

Chemistry Formulas

I like the idea of getting a chemistry formula tattooed, but it's all the other people who ruined it for everybody. If it's not dopamine or serotonin, then it's another one that tattoo artists are so over it. It's not original anymore.

"A rose by any other name" — a rose tattoo is as popular as this phrase. If you line up 10 people, there is bound to be at least one person with a rose tattoo. Do you see what I'm getting at here?

Latitude And Longitude

If you're an avid traveler, you may have opted for this tattoo here. Or perhaps you moved away from your childhood country, so this is a way to remember it. It's a cool idea, but it's just so overdone and not interesting anymore.

Palm Trees

Oh my goodness, I had no idea palm tree tattoos were so popular. Since I've always dreamed of living on an exotic beach, I can understand the appeal. However, I can see how tired tattoo artists can get with doing one over and over again.

Snakes And Skulls

This is the original badass tattoo, so it's no wonder it's still pretty popular. Anyone who shows up asking for this wants to appear mean and cool. Unfortunately, this tattoo idea lost its appeal a long time ago, ha, ha.

I don't think I even need to mention that one, but I will. Why? It's because, for some reason, people still ask for it. Don't they know it's not cool to get it anymore? I guess this is a final reminder for them all.

Deathly Hallows Symbol

If you speak to any tattoo artist, they will tell you how sick and tired they are of the Deathly Hallows symbol. It's been done to death, and I think they're ready to never tattoo it again, ha, ha.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

The next time you venture out to a tattoo parlor, make sure you don't get one of these tattoos here. And if you do, don't be surprised if the artist rolls their eyes at you.

Newsflash, that unique tattoo you thought you were getting, is something they're seen a thousand times, hee-hee. So you'll be better off asking for a custom design. That's all I'm saying.
