18 Items Costco Decided To Pull From Store Shelves

If you're a fan of shopping at Costco, you should know one simple trick. It has to do with its supply of stuff and how you can find out if an item is about to run out of stock.

When you spot a small star on the upper right-hand corner of the price tag, the product is about to be discontinued. But to save you some time, here are a few items that you should grab right now before they're gone for good. In some cases, these items have already disappeared from Costco stores.

1. Selected Hawaiian Coffee And Snacks

If you're a fan of Costco's Hawaiian coffee brand, I've got some bad news for you. Several items are going bye-bye, and I don't know exactly why. So I would urge you to run to Costco now to stock up.

2. Skinny Dipped Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

Oh, wow! I've never heard of this brand. But if you loved it, I have bad news for you. It's also one of the items that are about to disappear from Costco's shelves.

3. Brookside Strawberry And Passion Fruit

Oh my goodness, I love passion fruit. So I'm surprised I've never tried these Brookside strawberry and passion fruit chocolate-covered treats. I bet they taste really good. It's too bad Costco decided to discontinue them.

4. Pampers Diapers

I'm not entirely sure why Costco is no longer offering Pampers diapers. It may have something to do with the supplier, but don't quote me on that. So if this was a place where you usually stocked up, you need to look for another alternative.

5. Half-Sheet Chocolate Cake

Apparently, this beloved Costco item was discontinued back in 2020. You can pretty much blame the pandemic for this as fewer people have been getting together to celebrate birthdays and other occasions. But the good news is that Walmart still offers a similar option.

6. Eggs From Caged Hens

Since caging chickens to produce eggs comes under scrutiny for inhumane practices, Costco has vowed to get rid of caged eggs forever. I don't know about you, but I definitely think this is a step in the right direction on their part.

7. Bark Thins Dark Chocolate Almond

I've never tried these treats, but if you love them, get over to Costco right now. You might not be able to find them again for a long time, if ever. Have you ever tried them before?

8. Kirkland Signature Funhouse Treats

Halloween wouldn't be the same without these awesome Kirkland Signature Funhouse Treats. Oh, wait, don't tell me. Yes, that's right — they're going too. Why? I have no idea. But you better find another place to shop for your Halloween stuff.

9. Studded Tires

Whoa! I never knew studded tires even existed, haha. Apparently, they are effective at helping you drive on snowy roads more safely. But because there are also concerns that the studs actually damage roadways, Costco decided to remove them from their line-up.

10. Conair Infiniti Pro Hair Dryer

Listen up, ladies: If you had your heart set on this item here, you need to visit your nearest Costco ASAP. You wouldn't want to miss out on a great price on it. Am I right?

11. Anchor Hooking 1-Quart Canning Jars

If you're into canning, I have more bad news for you. Canning jars have been much harder to get lately, and it's about to get even harder now that Costco decided to discontinue these ones here. Yikes!

12. Cuddle With Me Dolls

Costco used to carry the "Cuddle With Me Dolls" — until 2009 that is. A Costco member in North Carolina filed a complaint regarding the African American doll, which was paired with a monkey and a banana and wore a headband with the label “lil’ monkey.” Costco decided to discontinue carrying these dolls ever since.

13. Endangered Seafood

I don't know about you, but I'm very careful about the source of my seafood. And I'm happy to report that Costco cares about this issue too. So they will be removing any fish that is considered endangered from their shelves.

14. Chocolate Dipped Ice Cream Bar

This favorite Costco treat featured a chocolate-dipped ice cream bar with toasted almonds. It was a classic food court item. Sadly, Costco got rid of it and replaced it with a brisket sandwich. People were so mad about it, that a Facebook group was started, but it didn't go anywhere, ha, ha!

15. Cigarettes

Okay, first of all, I had no idea Costco even sold cigarettes, ha, ha. I guess I never really cared about that. But if you normally get your fix there, you need to rethink that idea. Tobacco is a very low-margin business for them, and have been discontinued from many stores.

16. Kirkland Signature Five-Pocket Jeans

These so-called "dad jeans" were a hugely popular item at Costco. Then they tried to mess with a good thing and redesigned them, which caused an uproar and bad sales. So sadly, Costco scrapped the whole line and introduced the brand Urban Star instead.

17. Polish Hot Dogs

Customers were outraged when Costco removed their Polish hot dog from the food court menu. And they started a petition to bring it back. However, Costco had other plans and never brought them back. Ah, what a sad time that was.

18. Kirkland Signature Light Beer

We all love Costco's own Kirkland brand for many reasons. It provides a lot of stellar products. However, there is one item that received pretty poor reviews, and that's the Kirkland Signature Light Beer.

So you won't be finding it ever again. Somebody even compared its flavor to “urine-soaked diaper." Yikes!

I know it sucks when your favorite item disappears from store shelves.

I guess we should all start getting used to it as there have been warnings of many shortages coming out way. Say it isn't so! Was there ever a product you loved that is no longer available, and you've been mad over it ever since? You can vent about it here, hee-hee.
