So I was surprised when one bridesmaid got so much flack for altering an unflattering ceremony dress just before the wedding. Check this story out.
Brittney Rae was going to be a bridesmaid at her friend’s wedding.
So she decided to order a dress online. But when it arrived, it didn’t suit her body at all. Has that ever happened to you? OMG, I would cry.
However, she did not, ha, ha! Instead, Brittney decided to alter her dress.
And she documented the whole thing on TikTok. She posted a series of videos showing herself wearing the dress beforehand and how it looked after she altered it.
The original dress was green velvet.
It also had long sleeves, a tie at the waist, and a floor-length skirt. Brittney admitted she looked pretty frumpy in it. So she wanted to make it look more modern and fit her body better.
Brittney had to pretty much take the whole dress apart.
She ended up changing it to have short sleeves, a tea-length skirt, and a cinched waist. She also altered the neckline to create a plunging look. Wow, what a difference, huh?
She was so thrilled with the final look that she eagerly shared it on TikTok.
But what came next was quite a shock. She started getting major flack from other ladies who were clearly upset about her changing the look of the dress.
Wow! I have to admit I didn’t expect that either.
Some people loved the original dress and felt that she didn’t need to change it at all. And then some other comments came out pretty mean if I say so myself.
Women started accusing Brittney of trying to upstage the bride.
But she explained that the bride herself actually loved the way the altered dress looked on her. Even the bride chimed in and verified this very fact. So what gives, huh?
So, after all that, Brittney made a follow-up video.
In it, she shows some other dresses she could have worn if she really did want to upstage the bride, ha, ha!
