Nowadays, everybody seems to live a very busy lifestyle. A lot of people devote a huge chunk of their time to working to earn a living. Some of them do it because they have to, while others chase the dream of making a lot of money .
But this one man who has lost loved ones is urging his staff to take time to enjoy spending time with family . His emotional plea even went viral on TikTok so let’s see what he had to say.

A 41-year-old man who lives in Arizona is a dad to 7 kids.
He’s also a navy veteran who lost his wife six years ago. He enjoys creating silly videos to entertain himself and others on TikTok. But recently he opened up about something more serious.
On his last day as a retail manager, he had a message for his staff.
Instead of the usual talk of sales and customer service, he opted to give his staff some life advice. As someone who’s lost not only his wife but also a brother and even a child, he values the important things in life.
So this is what he said to his staff.
“Take it from someone who’s a brother, a wife, and a kid. You can make all the money in the world but you can’t use that money to buy back the time you wasted making that money.”
Amen to that.
He also continued to say this,
“Take your vacations, take your time off, enjoy your family and your friends because you never know when it might be your last time. Always remember that your job will be posted before your obituary. So enjoy your time with the people that matter because your job can replace you. Your family cannot.”
Well, the man is definitely right.
I think it’s so nice for him to say goodbye to his staff more so as a friend than a boss. So many times, we see quite the opposite. Some bosses take their jobs way too seriously and treat their employees badly.
Instead, this man spoke to them truthfully.
And he wanted to stress the importance of having a work and life balance. In the end, your job will still be there, but your family might not be. And if that were ever to happen to you, you might regret the time you spent away from your loved ones.
Once people saw his video on TikTok they quickly agreed with him.
This woman even shared a sad truth about her own family. Her husband worked a 70-hr week and wished for retirement. Unfortunately, he passed away before that could even happen. I’m so sorry for her loss.
Some people decided to take his advice.
I say good for them. The last corporate job had given me a hard time when I wanted to take some extra time off. Needless to say, I’m no longer there. I bet they hired somebody else who now has to put up with it too.

Do you agree that people these days burn the candle at both ends? I think this workaholism has to stop. It’s not doing anybody any favors. Yes, it would be nice to make more money, but in the end, it’s the time you spend with your loved ones that matters the most. And you can’t take the money with you when you pass away anyway.
