Spend a few years (or even a few months) in the workforce, and you’ll eventually run into a terrible boss .
You know the kind: they won’t recognize good work , they’ll take credit for others’ work, and they’ll expect all employees to be slaves to their jobs.

This last part — expecting employees to keep working even though they’re not on the clock anymore — inspired a passionate comeback .
Clock in, clock out.
I mean, I get it: employees need to do a good job in order to earn their paycheck. But employees are also human beings who should be allowed to leave work once their shift is over. It isn’t that complicated.
So, this was satisfying to see.
This was posted in the subreddit r/clevercomebacks, which is absolutely an appropriate place to share this clapback.
It sounds like something The Rock would have said in his wrestling days.
People need to have a life outside of work.
“My job isn’t my life, the only reason I have a job is because I’m forced to have one. I’m not [expletive] staying past my scheduled hours, it bleeds into my time and my time is precious to me because it’s mine,” read one impassioned reply. “Our lives should not be centered around working, I want a work life balance that tilts towards LIFE.”
I want to know what company this boss works for.
“You know your company is in trouble when the CEO is asking for business advice on Quora,” wrote one user, and I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Aren’t there, like, books written by CEOs that might be a better source of advice than Quora?

One reply , from an ex-employee of Macaroni Grill, said that their boss told them that they were “representing the company even outside of work hours and off the property.”
Ultimately, the question-asker will never see the answer.
Not to derail a good time or anything, but one user astutely pointed out that the original image is a Facebook reply to a screengrab of an old Quora post.
As they said, the reply is basically like screaming into the void.

We’re told to find a job we love, so we’ll never have to work. But this is basically a fantasy. Work is hard to love, but we all have to do it.
