It’s roughly day eleventy-billion of the year 2020 and for those of us holed up in our homes and practicing social distancing, we’re getting a little bit squirrelly.
While many people are still working essential jobs or have the ability to continue full time from home, others have been left unemployed and very bored.
Some people are clearing the store shelves of puzzles and baking ingredients, but one couple stuck at home with their big, fluffy dog decided to give him a makeover.
Hank is a Newfoundland, which is a breed roughly the size of a bear. But he’s also fluffy and friendly.
His humans, Hannah and Adam Heil, are social distancing with Hank, and in an effort to keep busy, Hannah has been giving Hank’s floof a lot of attention each day.
For fun, she started an Instagram account called @hank_hairstyles to show off his look for each day stuck at home.
By Day 2, he had props.
I mean, he’s not a St. Bernard with a mini barrel of brandy, but in this particular crisis, Hank has his humans covered.
Sunday Brunch
On Day 4, Hank was missing the country club and really wanted to play a few rounds of golf with his friend Trip.
Feeling Like A Cast Away
By Day 9, Hank was paying homage to his favorite movies.
Get it? Not only is Cast Away about isolation, but it also stars a person called “Hanks.”
Not The Mama!
Day 19 was an ode to a childhood favorite of mine! Dinosaurs! Remember when there was a Jim Henson’s Workshop sitcom in primetime featuring dinosaurs that literally ended its series finale with extinction?
The ’90s were weird.
Hank’s Going Bananas
Day 22 involved an entire cardboard New York skyline. I don’t think King Kong licked the airplanes…
Dog Ross
For his most recent look — as of this writing, Day 37 and counting — he spread a little joy of painting.
Hannah says she’ll keep posting until the self isolation ends, so be sure to follow Hank on Instagram to see more!
