Being a celebrity means you get to do pretty much whatever you want — just ask The Rock! If you or I were to walk into a fine dining restaurant and ask our server to warm up the food we brought with us from home, we’d be escorted out of the establishment.
But for The Rock? It is accepted behavior that’s become part of his routine.
I imagine that looking like The Rock would require a lot of upkeep both mentally and physically.
As we know, the pro-wrestler turned Hollywood hot shot has a very intense workout routine, as seen on his Instagram.
However, did you know he also has a strict diet he must adhere to to maintain such an out-of-this-world physique?
And by “strict” I mean strictly MASSIVE. No diet food for The Rock… no, no. Take, for example, this pre-workout meal he shared on his Instagram a few months back.
The feast featured an egg white omelette with chopped avocado, many slices of grilled bison, oatmeal with papaya, and three English muffins with peanut butter + honey.
And that’s just ONE meal!
Someone who has learned a lot about Mr. Johnson’s food habits is his former director Stephen Merchant.
Stephen, who directed the 2019 film Fighting with my Family , detailed The Rock’s commitment to his physic in a new interview with SiriusXM’s “Jim Norton and Sam Roberts.”
“I think someone told me, maybe he told me, that when he goes for dinner with friends he has to take his food to the restaurant and have them heat it up because it’s such a structured diet he has to have,” Stephen recalled.
Now that takes all the fun out of it!
If that wasn’t serious enough, the director recalled another quirky incident involving the actor’s eating habits.
“I do remember having a meeting with him just in Texas just before WrestleMania and we were having a meeting about the movie and his alarm would go off at like 3:17 p.m. and he would go to the fridge and there would be turkey and rice with ‘3:17 p.m.’ written on it and he would microwave it,” Stephen remembered.
“It was so regimented.”
Now look, I have also been known to set an alarm for snacks, but something tells me I won’t be looking like The Rock anytime soon.
