Social media platforms have been facing an influx of criticism due to the false information and conspiracy theories circulating about Andrew Tate . This comes after the media personality known as “the king of toxic masculinity” was arrested by the Romanian authorities. Tate was arrested for an alleged link to human trafficking.

Days after Tate was picked up by law enforcement in Romania, many took to social media to share their opinions on the development. The social media influencer is said to be facing the law alongside his brother, Tristan, and two other men.
Many of his fans took to platforms including Twitter and TikTok trending hashtags that he was being set up.

There have been scores of posts from his fans trending hashtags like #tateinnocent, and #freetopG. The significance of these trends suggests that the kickboxer was framed or set up “by the matrix.” The “matrix” suggestion became a thing due to Tate’s tweet following his arrest. He had sent a tweet reading, “The matrix sent their agent.”
The media insinuations by Tate’s fans were shared on TikTok. One clip which has become one of the most-liked videos on the Tate conspiracy showed one of his admirers seemingly giving insight into his arrest. The video started as a factual report of the event before veering into conspiracy theory questions like “What do you guys think is the real reason Andrew Tate was arrested?” The discourse continued, “was it the Matrix, or did Tate really commit a serious crime?”
Pizzagate And Other Conspiracy Theories

There was also the pizza gate theory alluding to how Tate’s arrest actually started circulating. According to reports, the 36-year-old who had a spat with climate activist, Greta Thunberg, posted a video of himself in response to her, where he had a box of pizza in front of him. It was alleged that the box of pizza gave away his location such that the Romanian authorities figured he was in the country.
Tate’s fans quickly labeled the situation as pizza gate noting “they want to cover up pizza gate with Andrew Tate.” Basically, this conspiracy theory suggested without evidence that politicians were behind the trafficking ring and Tate was being made a scapegoat.
There Were Speculations About His Release
Some social media users went further by posting old clips of Tate while alluding that he had been released. Per The Guardian , due to the ludicrous content popping up on social media after Tate’s arrest, TikTok and Twitter went under fire for allowing such content to take precedence.

In the wake of the speculations and videos flying around in support of Tate as well as the conspiracy theories, the media firms have come under fire. Imran Ahmed, the chief executive of the Center For Countering Digital Hate made it known that the virality of the conspiracy theories could taint the integrity of the ongoing investigations about Tate. Ahemad also noted that the safety of those involved could be jeopardized.

The former Big Brother contestant was indicted with the other earlier mentioned as he was connected to a criminal group allegedly exploiting women sexually. The group is known for luring women by promising them relationships. The victims were said to be subjected to “physical violence and mental coercion through intimidation, constant surveillance, control and invoking alleged debts. Although further information has not been shared on the case, the reality star will spend the next 30 days in detention.
