We love Amy Schumer for always being down to earth and never l etting any shame or embarrassment stop her from sharing her life in a way that’s always funny and relatable.
In a new interview Amy is now taking that same energy to a part of life for so many people in the world: mensturation!
Amy revealed that she’s now working with Tampax with a noble goal in mind.

Amy says she wants to “normalize women having their periods and take away the stigma,” and added that the partnership felt “almost felt too perfect to me, because we have the exact same goals in mind.”
Amy got real about what those goals are.

“We want to … just take the shame away from this thing that is really strange that it’s still so secretive and that we’re made to feel bad about it,” Amy reveals. “And just to get rid of some of the myths.”
“[Women and girls] have all these misconceptions and fears, and there really isn’t that much education out there.”

“Only 24 states have any sort of required s*x education and only 13 of those states require any sort of upkeep of actual medical studies. So if you don’t have an older sister, or if your mom isn’t super up to date, you really have no one to rely on,” Amy said.
“So I’m hopefully gonna be people’s older sister, explaining the things that I’ve learned to them.”
What an awesome goal from an awesome person! It’s about time that women, girls, and anyone else who has a uterus understands and doesn’t feel embarrassed about what’s going on down there during that time of the month.
What do you think about Amy’s goal? Let us know in the comments!
