The last thing that many people expect to see is a baby sitting in its car seat in the middle of the sidewalk with no parents in sight, yet that is exactly the sight that this Amazon delivery driver came across during his route one fateful Monday.
He stepped up to be a hero and even made headlines for taking charge during an emergency. It was an intense situation that could have easily ended in tragedy.

It all began with a carjack.
As Good Morning America reported, a Houston couple’s car was stolen. Just a little over a mile from where they took the car, the hijacker discovered that they had a very surprising, and very unwelcome passenger — a 5-month-old baby .
Rather than take the infant along for the ride, the individual decided to leave him in his baby carrier in the middle of the sidewalk, and then proceed to drive away.
This Amazon driver couldn’t believe his eyes.
While completing his deliveries for the day, Juan Carlos Flores came across an unbelievable sight: a baby sitting alone in its car seat in the middle of a residential area without any parents or caregivers in sight.
“When I went close to the baby, I wanted to cry, because I [said] it’s impossible the baby can be here on the side of the street alone,” Flores told GMA .
He took action immediately.
Flores knocked on the door of one of the nearby homes to ask if the child belonged to the people living there.
When they explained the child wasn’t theirs, Flores suspected there may be an even more serious situation at hand, so he called the police. Luckily, they were able to reunite the baby with his parents.
Protecting family is something dear to Flores.
The situation was near and dear to Flores because he’s a father himself, and he told GMA he felt the fear that most parents would experience if it were their child.
While home surveillance helped police see the car theft, the suspect has yet to be found, which is cause for concern. In the meantime, it’s good to know the 5 month old baby is safe and sound.
