It’s hard to believe we’re less than two weeks away from Christmas. Gosh, even just saying that makes my body break out into stress rashes when I think about all the gift wrapping that needs to be done. If you’re overwhelmed with the holidays like myself, please take this time to completely detach from reality and read what a body language expert had to say about Prince Willaim and Kate Middleton’s Christmas card.
In case you missed it, the Cambridges’ 2021 Christmas card is SO adorable:
If William’s legs have stolen the show for you don’t worry , you’re not alone.
Now that we’ve taken a moment to appreciate the card, what if I told you I had some insider info on it? You’d be jazzed, right? WELL, CONGRATS! Today is your lucky day!
Body language expert Judi James is here to tell us how this card tells A LOT about the family’s dynamic.
“This is a beautiful pose that defines a family growing up and developing independent personalities,” the expert told Express .
“But under the umbrella of loving and clearly quite flirtatious parent who look more confident and relaxed than ever before,” Judi added.
“William has his hand on Kate’s leg and she has returned the gesture of affection, love and approval with her own hand on his leg.”
Look, it doesn’t take a body language expert to see Kate’s hand is happily placed on her hubby’s thigh.
This type of PDA is almost unheard of in Royal Christmas cards and I hope it’s a sign for a more casual monarchy to come!
As for the children, it’s clear they’re growing up and creating identities of their own.
“All three children show very diverse personalities and growing confidence,” she explained. “Charlotte looks incredibly elegant here while George mirrors his fathers pose.”
She concluded: “Louis continues to look fearless, happy and socially confident though, sitting at the front of the pose with his signature cheeky grin.”
Don’t worry, though, the analysis didn’t stop there.
Dr. Lillian Glass also analyzed the image for Express.co.uk.
Dr. Glass took particular interest in the pair’s middle child, Princess Charlotte.
“Charlotte is the most serious of the group although she does lean in towards her family in solidarity,” she explained.
“She seems more reserved and self-contained in this photo as she holds on to her hand for restraint / self-comfort as well as balance.”
“William does reach out to her with his arm in the back of her,” she added.
“Her ramrod posture shows she is also extremely confident and independent. Her sitting side-saddle with legs together shows how she is groomed to be lady-like.”
To be fair, I’d be surprised if Charlotte was being taught anything other than how to be “ladylike” — however, I love that she has a quite confidence about her!
Dr. Glass added: “Her closed lips and squinted-like eyes not opened brightly do not show happiness or joy but rather an obligation to sit for this photo.”
Fans on social media noticed the striking resemblance between Princess Charlotte and a young Prince Wiliam.
Is it weird that this family feels like old friends of mine at this point? Probably! However, I’m thrilled to see this Royal fam looking happier than ever!
Next year, I petition for the whole family to be uber causal in shorts and living their best life!
