Nobody likes jury duty . It’s no fun to have to figure out getting time off work or how to handle childcare on top of the fact that it can be a long, thankless, and very stressful job to be part of a jury. People have gone to creative lengths to try to get excused from jury duty, but a tweet has recently gone viral with one woman’s very unique reason for wanting to be excused.
A video has caught a lot of attention online of a woman speaking to a judge about why she wants to be excused from jury duty.

“First of all let me clarify myself, July second is my birthday, July fourth is my son, and the 18th is my other son,” she begins by saying, which are all pretty normal or understandable reasons for wanting off the case. “And again, I need to figure out something,” she adds.
“I have my sugar daddy that I see every day.”

“I’m sorry?” the judge responds, which is pretty much exactly our reaction too. When the potential juror responds again with “my sugar daddy,” the judge goes on to say she’s “not exactly sure” what the potential juror means.
“Well I am married and I have my sugar daddy. I see him every day,” she explains.
It turns out that she would be missing out on no small amount of money.

She later revealed that she receives $8000 a month from her sugar daddy. “It’s all day for six months and what’s my hardship? I need my sugar daddy money. I said to the judge, ‘I have a sugar daddy and I’m married and I have a husband,’ just like that,” she said in an interview .
Obviously, people online have a lot to say about the video.
“TV: People come up with outlandish lies to get out of jury duty. Florida: People tell outlandish truths to get out of jury duty,” joked one Twitter user.
