Taylor Swift has resorted to legal measures to ensure her safety as she recently filed a temporary restraining order against a man she says has repeatedly visited her home in Los Angeles.
He has shown up at her house unprompted
Swift filed a temporary restraining order on Monday, June 9, against Brian Jason Wagner, a Colorado resident she alleges has visited her home in Los Angeles several times in the past year.
The news was first reported by TMZ, with representatives for Swift confirming the report to the Daily Mail.
Wagner repeatedly claims being in a relationship with her
In the legal declaration, Swift wrote, “Mr. Wagner made various statements about living at my property (not true), being in a relationship with me (not true), believing I am the mother of his son (not true), and needing to see me in person, all of which are untrue and disconnected from reality.”
He first visited her house in 2024
Swift also writes in the declaration that Wagner first visited her Los Angeles home in 2024, with him returning to the residence multiple times in July that year and more than once in May of this year.
“On at least one of the occasions in July 2024, Mr. Wagner was carrying a glass bottle that could have been used as a weapon,” Swift wrote.
Wagner wrote letters to her in prison
Swift alleged that when Wagner visited her residence again last month in May, he claimed he “was there checking on a friend (again, this is entirely untrue).”
When her security team did a background check on Wagner, they found he had been previously incarcerated, and had written letters to her in prison.
She said he’s ‘infatuated’ with her
The prison letters written by Wagner to Swift, which were found by her security team, allegedly detailed “at length about his infatuation with me, a romantic relationship with me (which does not exist), and other completely fabricated stories about his involvement in my personal life,” Swift said.
Wagner attempted to divert her mail to his residence
The artist also alleged that Wagner somehow managed to update his driver’s license with her own Los Angeles address.
She added that he has also sent her staff “hundreds” of threatening emails and attempted to divert her mail to his place of residence.
Swift emphasized she doesn’t know the man
“I have no relationship with Mr. Wagner and I have never met nor communicated with him,” Swift went on.
As she mentioned his recent May visits to her home, she added, “The fact that both of these recent visits and Mr. Wagner’s inappropriate and threatening communications to my staff about me have escalated in recent weeks creates a fear of imminent harm.”
Swift was granted a temporary restraining order in Los Angeles, which will keep Wagner away from her home, places of work, and vehicles.
