Everyone knows that there’s nothing better than kicking up your feet after a long day with a big glass of wine . While we say we’re only going to have a glass or two, we end up having an entire bottle to ourselves—but, we’re not judging ourselves , we all have a lot going on in our lives and it has been a rough couple of years.
When we drink wine, we have a few ways to get it done.
We all know that pouring ourselves a glass of wine is a process. We have to open the bottle with an opener, get a wine glass out, and then get back up every time we need to refill and repour. Getting up every time is so not it for us.
What if we told you there was a better way that saves you time and even saves you from cleaning a glass?
No one likes to have to get up and sit back down every time we finish chugging a glass. Plus, washing wine glasses is super tedious. We can’t run them through the dishwasher because they can shatter, and hand-washing is annoying for us all.

TikTok user mattdalrymple8 shared a little hack that we all needed in our lives way sooner than now—and it’s going to change the way you look at wine for good. You only need a couple of things.
It’s a pretty easy step-by-step process.
“Hello, I have a bottle of wine and I’m going to show you the best way to drink said bottle of wine.
First, open the wine. I may have had a swig, but it’s Saturday, why not,” Matt instructs in his viral TikTok video .
Next, you need to grab a Smart Water Bottlecap.
“Then you take a Smart water bottle cap and you slide it straight on your wine.”
Surprisingly, the bottle top for Smart Water Bottles fits right over the neck of many bottles of wine. In the video, Matt is using Barefoot, but they all have pretty much the same size opening.
Now, you have a way to drink wine and not have to use a glass.
For those who are like us and we consume an entire bottle in a sitting, this is going to make it so you don’t have to continuously get up and go to the kitchen to refill your glass. Skip the glass altogether!
Matt says it makes you “feel like an athlete.”
“You can feel like an athlete as you’re drinking wine and quite frankly it’s the best way to consume it,” he said.
Clearly, I am the Gold Medal winner for wine drinking competitions, so this is fitting.
People on TikTok absolutely loved it.

“Man’s living in 2036,” added another commenter. They were obsessed.
Obviously, people online loved it, as the video has been viewed over 3.5 million times.
If you were ever going to go viral, this is the way to do it. You cater to an audience of people who are lazy but also want to drink their wine unbothered. Matt knows a thing or two about what we need in our lives.

If you’re ever stuck with a wine bottle but no way to open it—TikTok is also here to help you. One TikTok user, @ jamiegriffwine , shared that you can just use a regular shoe to open a bottle of wine if you don’t have a corkscrew.
All you have to do is use a shoe and a tree!
Take the foil off the top of a bottle of wine, and also your shoe. Stick the bottle inside of your shoe and find a wall or a tree (or a strong surface) to strike the shoe on. Hit the shoe against the surface with the wine in it, and the cork will come out of the bottle. Magic!
