Do you order a lot of packages from Amazon? You’re definitely not the only one. It’s convenient to order nearly anything you can imagine and have it show up within less than a week.
But if you frequently order from Amazon, do you ever tip the driver? One Amazon delivery woman says you should.
Her now-deleted TikTok video started a debate.

TikTok user Nikki shared a video on the social media platform explaining how hard Amazon delivery drivers work. She talked about how heavy the workload could get, especially during Prime Week and other popular delivery times.
In her video, she explained that she often had to deliver around 138 packages in a day but that it could take much longer because of the process of finding the packages.
The Texas driver explained what her life is like on the job.

In these situations, she wonders why the customers on her route aren’t giving her a tip or snacks. She also wondered why they ordered so many packages.
The reactions to the video were mixed and a bit heated.

Some commenters agreed with Nikki, saying that leaving a little extra for the delivery driver is nice.
Others didn’t respond so kindly. Many people feel that tipping is not a requirement and that it shouldn’t be expected, even if the customer orders many packages.
She expressed appreciation for her job and for friendly customers.

During the video, Nikki did express her satisfaction with the job saying, “I love my job, and I love what I do. I just wanted to enlighten you guys on what we have to deal with.”
She also said she appreciates anyone who goes out of their way to do something nice, especially when she has to carry multiple heavy boxes to the same address.
Is this an issue with customers or with Amazon?

So, the employees may feel overworked and need relief. But not everyone agrees that it’s up to the customers to make the job easier. Instead, it should be Amazon’s responsibility.
Still, leaving a treat or tip is always a nice thing to do.

While Nikki also notes in her video that leaving something extra isn’t required, it can be a nice gesture that doesn’t require much effort. If it’s the holiday season or Prime week, setting out water or a snack can brighten a delivery driver’s say.
Nikki also wanted customers to consider doing the same thing for any delivery driver, regardless of what company they work for.
Some people didn’t realize Amazon drivers often deliver to the same places.

But, for those who order frequently or who have large, heavy items, a little tip could make a huge difference.
Other commenters suggested ways to make life easier for delivery people.

Many people explained that they like to leave behind a small basket of items, such as water bottles and granola bars. This way, delivery drivers and mail people have the option to take something, and you don’t even need to know them on a personal level.
While you probably shouldn’t feel like you have to do this, it may be a simple act of kindness that also makes you feel good.
Do you tip your mail person or delivery driver?

While commentators had strong opinions about this issue, we wonder about your experience. Do you ever leave behind money, snacks, or gifts for the people who deliver your packages and mail? Do you think this practice should be standard or not?
