A Group Of Women Wearing Hijabs Dressed Up As The Avengers And The Internet Loves It

With the exception of one movie in the Marvel Comic Universe, the standard cast we're accustomed to seeing in superhero films is largely white and male. But one group of hijabi-wearing women decided to flip the script when they attended Comic Con, and the internet can't get enough of it.

They dressed as Thor, Captain America and Iron Man...wearing hijabs.

They had no issues incorporating their hijabs into their costumes, proving that there's no stopping the creators at Marvel from developing a female superhero wearing a hijab.

The pictures received overwhelming praise on social media.

The reactions from people on social media ranged from awe at the authenticity of their costumes to genuine gratitude for putting a diverse spin on traditional Marvel characters.

They ended up winning best costume at Comic Con!

When they debuted their look at 2018's Comic Con in New York, they won the Marvel Becoming Costume Contest. They quickly went viral with #hijabheroes.

The superhero crew recreated their costumes again and made a legit Marvel movie poster.
