Recently, Selma took her signature humor and candid attitude (and that stunning pink Dior pantsuit) to the TIME 100 Health Summit and discussed her experience with chemotherapy to treat her MS.

"I was really declining more rapidly than I found acceptable," she told the panel, which included Dr. Oz & Dr. David Agus.

"And I was like, ‘I’m not ruining my body—what’s left of it—why would I put this horrible drug in my body? Chemotherapy? I don’t have cancer, I don’t need it,’ but I was kind of out of options."

She explained that after a small dose of chemo she felt better, causing her to rethink her initial opinions.

"So I was like, ‘Maybe I just have too much junk in there. And that killed some junk,’ Like what do I care if it kills my whole body because my whole body is like one big macrophage of yuck!"

Selma explained the doctors told her to make funeral plans just in case.

"So I did it and I was warned and… you kind of make your plans for death."

Selma said that explaining her mortality to her 8-year-old son Arthur made everything seem real.

"I told my son I was doing this and he [Arthur] would like me cremated. I’m here though! We don’t have to worry about that."

"It was a little hard," Selma confessed.

"I had a great support system."

"You have more chemo than for cancer patients 'cause the aim is to kind of kill you."

"It's the stem cells that allow you to live with the amount of chemo. The chemo is what is the MS cure if, in fact, it does that."

"I felt very taken care of. I had some complications but overall, you know, it went pretty smoothly."

"I'm pretty good if I'm prepared."

There's no denying Selma's strength is so inspiring.
